Both of them agreed on each other's wishes.

Thus, the day that Asil would have to come to Livia's home have come...

.·*·.

"W-What is this..."

Duke Laurent can't help but tremble while suppressing his anger deep inside him. The Duchess was on his right, comforting him and his son was on his left.

Both Livia and Asil is in front of them.

Holding hands...

'Why is he holding my daughter's delicate hand!!' The Duke screamed inside his mind.

"Father, didn't I told you that I will marry the Prince?"

"Bullshit! You are to be wed to Hariette!"

Suddenly, Asil's armrest broke, making a loud sound. The three that sat across Livia and Asil gasped with their eyes wide open.

'D-Did he just broke that with his barehand?'

"Ho? Hariette?"

Asil spoke with smile on his face, despite the kind smile he has, dark aura was exuding from his back.

"You mean to marry my Livia off to that Emperor who just recently rose in throne?"

"T-That's right!"

"But father-in-law... If you did that... You'll die you know... Not only you but your whole clan..."

Livia gasped beside him and quickly pull her hands away. Asil didn't noticed it since he was livid and preoccupied at the moment because of Duke Laurent.

"Not only you hid Livia, you also want to marry her to another man? Do you know the consequences? Father-in-law."

The Duke felt annoyed because of Asil's constant calling Father-in-law, it makes his blood boil and his face red in anger.

"Still!!"

"According to the book of Empire's Law, Act 69 page 143 'Anyone who threatens, abducts or hides the consort of the Royal heir would have to face the Empire's punishment' It has three levels of penalty. First Level, confiscation of title and assets, demotion into slaves was also in this clause. Second Level, Banishment from the Empire, the entire clan of the offender would be demoted into slaves and would be exiled to the barren lands of the Empire. Third Level, Decapitation, anyone who is connected to the offender, not only the whole clan of the offender would face a public humiliation by executing them in the middle of the Capital."

Unbeknownst to everyone in the room, Asil specifically memorized this one law just because it concerns Livia. His lips twitched up a little bit at the thought, proud of himself.

The Duke trembled as his hands were balled into fists as he glared at Asil. He knew the consequences yet he still hid his daughter. But what can he do? Livia was still a young child that needed the care of her parents, if he sent his daughter in the palace, there was no doubt that Livia would've been killed by the Empress.

He was only a father that greatly cares for the well-being of his precious daughter, was that something that he shouldn't have done?

As the Duke stares at Asil's determined eyes, He faltered when he saw something in the Prince's eyes.

Sincerity

It was something that he couldn't imagine that Asil has for his daughter.

If I allowed him to marry Livia, would she be happy? I wouldn't have to worry about her life being at risk? Will he really care for her?
