The weather was good and pleasant to have for hunting. There were no signs of upcoming rain in the territory of the Laurents, and so is the expression of the Duke, he has this dashing and confident smile on his face. If anyone would see it, they would think that he already won the hunting match with the Prince.

Livia just stared at her father from afar. Asil was yet to arrive and there she is feeling nervous for him.

Was she nervous because he might get injured? Well, that is only natural, her whole family would be held accountable for anything that'll happen to the Crown Prince of the Empire. But is that the only reason? That she doesn't know.

Her blonde eyelashes flutter as she looks at the handkerchief on her lap.

She remembered what Ajisai had told her the night when Asil proposed to have a competition with her father.

"My lady, are you not going to give a handkerchief to the Prince?" The maid asked as she diligently cleaned Livia's table.

"Handkerchief?" Asked Livia.

"Yes, a lady would give a handkerchief to her lover if he's to go somewhere such as a journey, a war, or a competition. It was a romantic way to express love with the hidden message of 'come back safely' ."

"Love... Safely..."

Livia was contemplating whether to give it to Asil or maybe just keep it to herself.

Am I not the consort of the Crown Prince?

She asked herself. However, consort and lover are two different things. Being a consort doesn't mean that she is already a lover, it could be contractual or perhaps there's love in between. But if you said that you are the lover of the Crown Prince, love is involved and there are romantic feelings as well.

Of course, I was the first one.

It seems like our relationship would revolve around his desire to ruin the Empire...

So no, I can't give this to him. Though my effort would be useless if I didn't give this to him.

But why did I make this in the first place?

"Livi."

Livia slightly jumped on her seat when she noticed that Asil was already beside her.

Embarrassed, she quickly hid the handkerchief and looked up at him.

"Your Highness, Uhm, I supposed that the game is about to start."

As she looks into his eyes, she could see that Asil's eyes are unusually sparkly. She was curious why.

Livia also noticed that Asil was waiting for her.

"Well, are you not supposed to be on your way now, Your Highness?"

Asil scratched the back of his head and shyly smiled at her.

"A-Am I not supposed to get a handkerchief from you?"

"What?"

Asil made both of his hand's forefinger touches as he hesitates to say something.

"Well, Atlas told me when we were still on the battlefield that men were supposed to get handkerchiefs from their wives or lovers..."
