Didn't think this could happen

Chapter 7

For the next week contractions would come and go.

He was in the living room with Steve and Tony was at a meeting.

Then he felt his stomach tighten and winced.

When it was done he took a deep breath.

"You OK Buck?" Steve asked.

"Yeah. Just a little tighter than usual." Bucky said.

Steve looked at him worried but nodded.

Throughout the day it got worse but after years of experience Bucky was still able to hide it.

Bucky was in bed with Tony when he woke up to pain and hissed.

"Bucky? You OK?" Tony asked half asleep.

Then Bucky took a deep breath and shook his head.

"No. I think it's time." he said.

Tony jumped out of bed and looked at him.

"You sure?" Tony asked and Bucky nodded. "OK. Why don't you go take a shower and I'll call Helen?" he said and Bucky nodded again.

Then Tony helped him up and headed to the bathroom.

When they were a few steps away Bucky stopped and felt something coming down.

"My water just broke." he said and winced feeling a contraction and held onto Tony.

"Uh, OK. Um," Tony said but Bucky looked at him when it was done.

"Just get me to the shower, I'll be fine. I worked for HYDRA for years and have been through worse." he said and Tony nodded.

Then they headed to the bathroom and Bucky took a shower while Tony tried to calm down and call Cho.

Later they were in the MedBay and Bucky was getting looked at.

"Looks like you're only at 5." Cho said and they nodded.

Then Tony looked at Bucky.

"You ready?" he asked and Bucky looked at him smiling.

"Yeah. I looked after and protected Steve, I can do it with our son." he said.

"So you have two people to protect now." Tony said then chuckled and Bucky laid there for a minute thinking.

"I think Steve will be fine. He's an Avenger, Captain America, leader of the Avengers and only a year younger than me."

He hated to admit it but he knew Steve didn't need him to protect him anymore. He stopped really needing him the minute he became Captain America.

Now he has a son to protect.

Later they were walking when Bucky stopped and grabbed onto the wall feeling a contraction.

"I think this is worse than the torture HYDRA did to me in 45!" Bucky said with his eyes shut tight.

Then he took a deep breath.

"It's gonna be OK." Tony said gently.

"How long has it been?" Bucky asked.

"FRIDAY, how long has Bucky been in labor?"

"It has been 12 hours boss." FRIDAY said.

Bucky groaned knowing he still has a while to go.

"Why don't you just get epidural?" Tony asked but Bucky shook his head.

"Won't work because of the serum." he said and winced.

Then he groaned again but from pain this time.
