Prologue

Yuna POV

My name is Yuna Shizuma, I'm 18 years old and I'm a member of an expert team called GUTS-Select. My father is the chairman of the Shizuma Foundation and I lived with him and my childhood best friend Akito Hijiri in the mansion before we both joined GUTS-Select. Everything seemed to be going fine, until one day...

There was a major attack in the city we were patrolling in and it was more dangerous than a Sphere attack. Tesshin, Himari and Marluru were told to stay in the Nursedessei to operate with all of the combat systems, while Kengo, Akito and I were were ordered to evacuate the citizens in the city along with the Captain himself.

Himari Nanase usually pilots the GUTS Falcon, Tesshin Sakuma pilots the Nursedessei and Marluru is usually our operator, but he had to assist Tesshin with the ship's combat systems for this mission. Kengo Manaka was our latest recruit and he's on ground duty along with Akito and myself. Outside of combat duties, Akito usually works in his lab, but this combat mission needed as many combat forces as possible. Captain Seiya Tatsumi is the Captain of GUTS-Select and he gives us orders for the sake of ourselves and other innocent people. Anyways, back to the present...

Kengo, Akito, the Captain and I were evacuating the citizens, as well as taking down the threats that were attacking the rest of the city. A lot of people were getting seriously injured, so the TPU's medical team had to get the casualties to the nearest medical facility for shelter.

I was shooting down the soldiers and then I got hit on the head too many times, which caused my patrol cap to fall off my head and I fell onto the ground. Akito saw me and rushed over to me to check if I was okay.

Akito: Yuna! Are you okay?

I looked at him, while tolerating with the pain.

Yuna: I'll be fine, but we gotta take out the biggest threats first.

Akito helped me up.

Akito: You're right, but you look injured.

Yuna: I said I'm fine.

I ran off from Akito to take out the threats myself and then complete darkness surrounded me after a hard and loud thud occurred. I went into a complete blackout after getting knocked on the head once again and it was even more painful this time. I couldn't hear any voices or any sounds and I couldn't feel any of my other senses at all.

Akito POV

After a few minutes, the threats retreated and we had to regroup. Then we realised that there was something missing.

Captain: Where's Shizuma?

Kengo: I haven't seen her lately. What about you Akito?

I looked down and shook my head.

Akito: I found her on the ground with a severe head injury and she ran off back into the battlefield alone. I'm sorry...

Captain: We will find her somehow, but right now we have to rescue casualties.

Akito and Kengo: Roger!

The Captain then contacted Marluru, Tesshin and Himari.

Captain: Sakuma, Nanase, Marluru, you need to assist us with rescuing the casualties, but Shizuma's nowhere to be seen. Please be on high alert in the meantime.

Himari: Got it.

Tesshin and Marluru: Roger!
