Skylar Haven Raeken, the oldest child of Jonathan and Mel Raeken.

The first time their parents met them wasn't at a hospital.

Wasn't them wrapped up in a blanket after just being born.

Their parents found them in the middle of the road, bloody.

They took them to the hospital and for 6 long months, they watched over Sky.

The hospital couldn't supply information on Skylar.

Just their name, and age.

Their real parents were long gone.

A year after the night they found them; they adopted them.

They had a younger sister, and they had just turned 2 not so long ago.

But while their mother was pregnant with Theo, their younger brother, things started to change.

The sides of their mouth hurt, something itched beneath their nail beds.

At night when it was thundering, or when the neighborhood dogs would bark too loud, the colors distorted.

On their third birthday, a year after Tara was born and 6 months after Theo, they turned.

Theo had thrown something off his highchair.

There was a big bang sound, it triggered something in their brain.

There was a cold that ran up their spine.

It felt like they were 1 again, on a road while it thundered.

Hands covered in blood.

Their eyes turned blue, and their claws sprung out, ripping the table cloth next to them.

Tara had noticed first, she screamed and jumped back from the table.

Sky didn't even take in the reaction of their sister.

Eyes glued to their hands.

Claws that looked almost white, shone in the light.

Their dad ran in from the kitchen.

Mel had run in from the opposite direction.

She was in the living room trying to find Theo's bottle.

Sky had locked their eyes with their father, tears streaming out of their blue eyes.

"Help..."

Their eyes fluttered close before falling out of the chair.

The shock had fallen from their mother's face, she leaned down to pick them up.

Jonathan had taken to comforting Tara who was crying.

Something about Theo's face would have shocked anyone.

If they were paying attention, like the dread doctors were, they would've noticed the small smile on his face.

They started watching the Raeken family after they found Skylar.

They watched and watched, waiting for the right moment.

Marcel had no reason to think this family was anything important.

But he saw them.

Eyes bright blue almost blinding in the night.

So, they watched and 2 years later it happened.

Skylar turned unconsciously, which meant that they could control it soon.
