Pine paw took a long stretch and saw Running stream Sand paw's apprentice approaching him. "I got permission from leap claw and sword claw to go hunting with you and sand paw" Running stream mewed not even letting him get a chance to speak Pine paw went after Running stream. Sand paw was outside "I smelled a rabbit" he said "good where?" Running stream asked. "to the right of the bridge" he answered. "Good now go get it". After a few moments Sand paw came back with a rabbit in his jaws. Meanwhile pine paw had spotted a sparrow and went after it. He adopted a hunting crouch his mentor had taught him. He made creeped down wind of the sparrow it perked up looking side to side Nothing. Only the sound of the wind ruffling the grass it returned to what it was doing Pine paw lunged his thorn shaped paws catching the bird. He tried to sink his fangs into the bird but it flew away. Pine paw looked disappointed. Sand paw padded up to him. "hey there are more birds in the plains better luck next time?" he said "yeah maybe" "Well it looks like that sword claw's been teaching you some of bog clan's tactics. Typical" Pine paw was gonna press on about what he meant by that when he turned and smelled something. He raised his nose to the air and sniffed too he could smell something. He took a minute to process the smell. "It's a barb clan scent" he purred proud that he could smell the hidden warrior "no there's something wrong with the scent" Running stream said the she cat was right there was a slight smell of ash and something unknown sand paw looked to the left. "Over there!" he meowed before giving approaching the cat pine paw turned to look at it. It was a ginger with stunning green eyes. The cat ran away when it realized it was being watched Running stream gave chase across the plains Pine paw was the second to follow running alongside sand paw. The was pretty fast even Running stream struggled to keep up. The cat was obviously trying to get to the thunder path. "Come on I know a short cut" sand paw mewed turning to the right Pine paw followed him they ran over a hill and on the other side he saw the cat and running stream they were indeed closer to the thunder path. They quickly got in the way of the cat. The cat jumped over him Pine paw with his claws still unsheathed just barely was able to scrape the cat's belly. The cat only faltered a little before picking up speed again. Running stream passed them a roar of a monster stopped the apprentices. The monster just barely missed Running stream. The strange cat was gone it had probably ran into bog clan's forest "let's go that cat is bog clan's problem now" Running stream said before walking away the apprentices followed questions on both of their faces.
