Pine paw stood in a line badger paw in front of him. Sword claw was assessing how well they fought Vole whisper would take them out on small hunting trips to see how well they hunt all the old apprentices were there meaning only badger paw and Pine paw were their. Vole whisper had been watching him ever since the situation at claw leaf he had accidently pushed her in to a monster paw stack where she screeched for what felt like hours till she got out. Sword claw had just finished with Badger paw and he padded over to vole whisper. They stalked off heading for the thunderpath. Pine paw lunged at Sword claw. He sidestepped and pawed his face. Pine paw recoiled and feinted an attack Sword claw didn't flinch instead he leaped at pine paw. Pine paw jumped to the side paws outstretched for sword claw's side but, he felt nothing but air "Come on don't be predictable" sword claw said. "What do you mean?" the tom asked ducking a swipe. "you press down your right paw hard when your about to attack." Pine paw tried to work it out of him and he did catch sword claw by surprise once. "You done yet? I'm ready to test Pine paw" Vole whisper said. "just nearly" sword claw said. Sword claw ducked over a swipe and tackled pine paw head first. "Now we're done," he said. Pine paw went to join Vole whisper. Vole whisper examined Pine paw looking for bruises before trotting off Pine paw followed her. Vole whisper stopped. "Okay pine paw I'm gonna be watching. get as much prey as you can and come back." Vole whisper said. Pine paw nodded and went south. Towards the woodplace. He could scented a rabbit and looked to the right immediately crouching. He got close to the rabbit and leaped for it. The rabbit started running but it was to late. Pine paw bit the rabbit's ear and pulled it back before biting into the rabbit's throat. He buried the rabbit for later and continued hunting.
some time later.....
Pine paw sat down while badger paw and sword claw finished their spar. With badger paw ending it with a mock bite to the shoulder. "you two are truly on your way to becoming warriors a few more days and I'll talk to racoon star about giving you your warrior names" sword claw said. Pine paw felt a surge of pride. It took three trips to get all the fresh kill back. Pine paw picked out a nice vole for himself before going to sit beside badger paw and sand paw. "You heard of the new cats?" Badger paw said after swallowing a piece of a caffinch "yeah we saw a stranger on our territory during a hunting trip," Sand paw said. "No, today me and vole whisper smelled other cats on the territory" badger paw said. Pine paw and sand paw perked up. "What was the cat like?" Sand paw asked his voice turning serious. Badger paw noticed the change in Sand paw's voice and looked at Pine paw asking a silent question. Pine paw gave a I'll tell you later look. "pale fur green eyes looked liked they were both toms" Badger paw said "both?" Badger paw looked like he was trying to remember details "yeah there were two one of them the other had mud brown fur and orange eyes" he mewed "does racoon star know" Pine paw said looking at a hidden Vole whisper. "Of course you know Vole whisper always sticking to the code " Badger paw said looking hungrily at Sand paw's squirrel "don't even think about it" Sand paw protectively pawed his squirrel closer to him. "So what do you think Racoon star is gonna do about it?" Sand paw said after taking a good chunk of the squirrel. "Well we know Racoon star isn't gonna ignore this, she's probably gonna increase patrols even more and bring it up next gathering" Pine paw said. "I bet that the other clans have their own stories to tell during the gathering" Badger paw snorted.
