Finally, after a full, agonising hour, Amy tried and found the perfect dress which, thankfully, she liked. It was a low cut dress of a brilliant scarlet color with a sparkly black belt. It was quite simple and she looked perfect in it. Shame, though, that it was going to sit in the back of Amy's closet forever. But before she bought it, she had to get it checked with Natalie. She stepped out and turned for Natalie like she learned to do after the fifth dress ("You're supposed to turn to let me have a good look at your dress, Amy!")
"Well?" Amy asked. Natalie circled her and examined every inch of the dress and finally broke into a wide grin.
"This is the perfect one!" Natalie cried. Amy was so relieved that her shopping was finally done. Just then, Ian came in front of her and his mouth fell open. Natalie grinned.
"Yes, it does look nice, doesn't it?" Natalie asked Ian, who was opening and closing his mouth apparently lost for words.
"Wow! . . . I mean, yes, you look nice, Amy," Ian said. Amy noticed two extremely light patches of pink had appeared on Ian's cheeks.
"Thanks, Ian," Amy replied, looking equally flushed.
"Okay, chop-chop. Go and buy this dress, Amy," Natalie interrupted and then added, "Right after you change, of course."
Amy went inside the changing room again. She came out again wearing her old clothes and the dress in her hands. Now that the shopping was done - time for Revenge! She was walking out of the store to join the others when a grinning Dan joined her.
"Have fun?" Dan asked.
"Yup, and I'll make sure you do too," Amy retaliated.
"Dhun Dhun Dhuuun! Look out, Amy the monster is after you!" Dan mocked.
"We'll see who's laughing later," Amy replied airily. "Anyway, there they are." Amy and Dan made their way towards their packed cousins chattering and laughing.
"So where to next, Amy? The food court?" Hamilton asked hopefully.
"No, it's not 1 'O clock yet. Amy, how about we go to the third floor?" Dan asked, looking at a map of the mall.
"What's on the third floor?" Amy asked suspiciously.
"Oh . . . um . . . The . . . Toy Shop!" Dan stuttered.
"The Toy Shop?" Amy asked rasing her eyebrows.
"Yeah, it says here they've just got a new stock of toys and I've been dying to try out the new Nerf gun!" Dan replied.
Amy glanced at the map Dan was holding. The joke shop, huh? Sure Dan, game on. "Ok, let's go the Toy Shop!" Amy announced.
Dan looked a little surprised but recovered quickly. Just then, a girl about the age of 17 crashed into a hooded Jonah.
"Oh god! I'm so sorry!" The girl apologised.
"Yo, that's okay, dawg," Jonah replied without thinking. The girl's mouth fell open. "Hey, guys? Yeah, I gotta run! See you later!" And with that, Jonah sprinted out of the mall while the girl screamed, "JONAH WIZARD!" Most of the people's heads turned towards the direction of the screen hoping to catch a glimpse of the star and when they saw the girl sprinting after Jonah, they joined her.
"Well, that's that. He's not having a very good day, is he?" Hamilton commented.
"Come on, let's go. Jonah'll find us whenever he escapes from that mob," Amy said.
And off they went on the elevator. Dan hit the third floor button and when the door opened, they saw the huge headline on a board bearing, "Want to trick you friends? Want to get back at someone? Come on down at Weasley's Joke Shop! Get everything from electric buzzers to spray Itching liquid!"
"They used a Harry Potter reference. Bless them," Ted said as they moved out of the elevator. Dan and Amy both pretended to ignore that sign even though they had read the sign with great enthusiasm and went down to the toyshop. The toyshop was hardly hard to miss. On either side of the entrance was a giant teddy bear. It was actually really frightening when you first see it but as you get used to the sight, you start to realise it's actually kind of cute. There was a giant wooden sign with golden letters announcing it to be "The Toy Place"
"What're we gonna do inside, again?" Hamilton asked, turning to Amy.
"Ask Dan. It was his stinking idea to come here," Amy replied, scowling at Dan.
"Come on, it's a toy shop! It can't be that bad!" Dan said and they stepped inside. What Amy first noticed was that it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it looked like a toy heaven. Teddy bears, barbie dolls, Nerf guns, Realistic pets, models of trains with tracks, the biggest gumball machine Dan had ever seen and many more things that would probably make a 10 year old faint with excitement. Ok, Amy admitted to herself. This is pretty cool. Dan hopped over to one of the Gun section and disappeared. Amy slid into a section close to another exit. If only she could leave the store unnoticed. The joke shop was a perfect place to buy something to get back at Dan. Slowly, she picked up a stuffed dog and sidled over closer to the door while pretending to examine the dog. She put the dog down on another rack and quickly looked around. No one was looking. She nimbly stepped out of the exit and headed for the joke shop on the other side of the floor. The Joke Shop was, if it was possible, more enticing than the Toy shop. A large varieties of statue prank stuff had been placed on the sides of the entrance like decorations. There were buzzers, nerd glasses, disappearing ink pens, whoopie cusions etc. etc. But which one would be best for Dan? She stepped inside the shop and got a full blast of the shop. They actually had everything. Amy was just going to the prank section when a sales man came seemingly out of nowhere and started coaxing her to buy something.
"Are you planning to prank your boyfriend? Brother? Or just a friend? Whoever it is, you can always find something hilarious in here. So tell me, what exactly do you want?" The salesman asked.
"My brother," Amy replied. "Dan."
"Ah, this Dan, what's he like?" The salesman asked.
"Well, he's really gross and likes to make fart joke an-" Amy began but was interrupted by the salesman.
"Ah, say no more, I know the perfect prank to play on this Dan," The salesman said, grinning slyly.
"Okay, I guess. Show me," Amy mumbled.
"Come. Follow me," The salesman said and he began walking towards the prank section. Amy followed but he didn't stop in the aisle. He went straight into a room and showed Amy the equipment and the brochure for the 'prank.'
"Of course, I thought this must be the perfect thing to get back at your brother. But it's quite expensive. If you want, I can look for anything else," The salesman said, glancing at Amy's plain clothes.
"No, this is perfect! When will it happen?" Amy asked.
"As soon as you make the purchase, we can do it but you can change the time if you want," The salesman said, looking delighted to sell such a big prank.
"I'll want to do it a bit later, if you don't mind," Amy said. "I'll call you, what's your number?"
"Take this brochure. It's got the shop's number on it and until then, we'll get ready," The salesman said and he disappeared into another room of the shop. Amy had finally found the perfect prank. Dan would absolutely love it!
