Ricky doesn't get why he has to wake up so early on a Saturday to go to a firehouse he doesn't want to go to. He stumbles out of bed getting dressed. He grabbed his earbuds and phone from the bedside table before walking out of the room. He found his foster parents standing at the counter drinking coffee.

"Good Morning." Kelly smiles. "We eat breakfast at the firehouse but there's coffee if you drink it."

"I'm 14 I don't drink coffee," Ricky says shrugging.

"Do you have a change of clothes for tomorrow? Pajamas?" Stella asks.

"No uh, can I have a Walmart bag or something to pack them in please?" He says softly peaking in the fridge to find a drink.

"You don't need to use a plastic bag I should have an old bag in the closet you can use. We'll get you a duffle bag later."

"I'm fine with the hand-me-down," Ricky says grabbing the milk.

"Nonsense. We're taking you shopping for toiletries and stuff tomorrow so we can grab one tomorrow." Stella suggests. Ricky shrugs, knowing nothing nice ever stays that way when he leaves the home he got it from.

"Where's your cups?" He asks them.

"That cupboard." Kelly points to one. Ricky mumbles a thank you and grabs a cup. Kelly goes and grabs an old bag from his closet and Ricky packs his clothes into it. Soon they make it to the firehouse.

"Hey Severide is this the kid?" A man asks. Maverick looks at him, he's a little older maybe fifties, or early sixties, and has grey hair.

"Yep this is Ricky, Ricky this is Lieutenant Herrmann."

"Hey, kid." Herrmann smiles, Ricky says nothing just looking back at the ground.

"Okay come on Ricky I'll give you a tour," Kelly says as they start walking off. "This is squad table only the best of the best sit here.. And Capp." He says making the man at the table glare at him.

"Don't listen to him I'm great," Capp says.

"Capp, Tony this is Ricky." Kelly motions to the teen boy who looked uninterested in them.

"Hey." Tony smiles. Ricky mumbles a response and looks back up at his foster dad.

Kelly then leads him inside giving him a tour deciding to leave out any more introductions. After the tour, he leaves Maverick in the bunk room on an unclaimed bed while he gets changed.

"Okay, kid you good here? And me or Stella will come get you when breakfast is ready?" Kelly says.

"Okay," Ricky says putting his headphones back on. Kelly sighs as he walks out of the bunk room. Ricky was pretty much undisturbed for the next 30 minutes. Sure people were shuffling in and out of the bunk room but no one actually talked to him.

"Hey, Ricky?" She waits for him to take out an earbud before continuing, "Breakfast is ready." Stella tells him.

"Okay," Ricky says as she walks off. He stands up tucking his phone into his pocket. He keeps one earbud out as he heads to where Kelly showed him the common room is. He looks around the common room, it was loud with chatter and people were sitting around talking and enjoying breakfast. He goes to the counter waiting his turn before getting his food. He finds himself at the big table next to Kelly. Did he want to spend 24 hours here? No, he'd rather have slept in and been alone all day.

"You're name is pretty cool. Are you named after something?" Gallo asks.

"My mom likes the movie Topgun so I'm named after that guy," Ricky says leaning back in the chair and looking at him.
