Anaela

"What did you learn about Dom?" I asked AS, laying in my bed with pictures of Dom's scattered body on sheets of lamented paper all across my top cover.

You know I'm in your head, right? You don't have to talk to me out loud. Unless you want people to know you're crazy.

"Hush. What did you learn?" I asked, tracing my hand over where her jaw should be in a picture.

I checked out the little spot she used to frequent. This kid helped me out. Said some black, masked figure got her.

I found the rest of her jaw in another photo, exposed and covered in dark red blood.

"Black as in black or like the color?" The sigh AS gave me gifted me my answer. "That sounds pretty paranormal to me. You sure you're not a ghost and that's not like some god of death or something?"

Anaela. Getting shots off my titties in exchange for all of this strenuous activity is starting not to be worth it.

"Sorry, sorry. So...besides that, we don't really have a lead on who killed Dom?" I asked.

Not yet. You're meeting with the kid tomorrow night. Around the time the doors open, I'd say. Eleven to twelve, okay?

"Me? But you're the one who wants to run free with my body? And you're the...cool one," I admitted.

I'll take over if need be, but this is your responsibility, not mine.

"Thanks for the support, AS."

No problem, love. Just doing business.

I sighed, stressing over the photographs of Dom.

"There's work to be done then," I muttered.

It's timeee.

I groaned, putting my pillow over my left ear as I slept on my right side, my body encompassed in my cozy covers.

"If you wake me up again like that, you'll never see another day," I warned.

It's ten, and you have some traveling to do. You need to meet up with that kid to find out if anyone he knows can tell us who that dark figure was that kidnapped your Dom.

"I knowww...this just," I let out a long yawn, "sucks."

Start getting ready. Or I'll get you ready myself.

"No. Fine. I'm getting up," I groaned again, kicking my covers back and heading to the bathroom. "And the next time you decide to take over- You haven't done anything wrong recently, but just give me a warning because the dizziness is not it, sis."

I heard two quick knocks on my bedroom door.

"Anaela, who are you in there talking to?"

And why the fuck are you in my house, Mother?

"Um...phone," I lied quickly. I came out of the bathroom and stood in the doorway of my room, studying my mother's bare face and disheveled appearance. "What happened to you...?"

"A...tough run in," she said after a shaky breath. "I need a place to crash at."

"Sorry. I can't help you," my expression hardened, clutching my door knob tightly. "I can walk you out."

"Anaela. I know I haven't been the best-

"You honestly haven't been anything," I scoffed, not in the mood to hear her excuses and pleas. "You might have been some resemblance of a mother when I was younger but you're damn sure not much of one nowadays. You haven't been for awhile."
