ValentineI laid in bed, Teece's empty side next to me uncomfortably bare although the bed looked just the same. It was morning again. Another morning without her. A Thursday.
Two women- no three out of my life who cared for me; Keris, Anaela, and Teece. I'm the biggest fuck up. And they all knew it.
Twenty minutes later, fried out of my mind and trying to brush my depression away, my eyes landed on something across the room I hadn't noticed before.
Damn, can't do nothing right.
I got myself out of bed, rubbing underneath my neck where some sweat had settled as I stared down at the career coordinator's present. I guess I could go drop it off to her.
But I gave Teece my car.
I sighed, ordering myself a ride as I threw on some clothes to wear down at the center. Once I was dressed, and the vehicle was here, I got in, trying to evade any small talk the driver might want to initiate. Don't blow this nice feeling I got right now, buddy. You have no idea how long it took me to get to this point today.
"Here we are. You want me to pull up here?"
"This place's fine," I shrugged. I got out, walking towards the doors with an ominous feeling tugging at my chest. Something was about to happen. I could feel it.
Would Anaela be here? Someone I knew?
I passed by the job board, even though I was content with working at the high school for now. Like I had went back in time to the summer, nothing I could apply for was open and half of these papers I had seen countless of times before. I made it to Anaya's office, softly knocking on her door as I heard the sounds of movement from inside.
I held the gift Teece forgot to give her in my hands, knocking again when I didn't get a response.
"I'm busy right now," the career coordinator called out, "you'll have to schedule an appointment if you want to discuss a job."
I slowly turned the knob, "Actually, I just stopped by to thank-
My hand dropped from the door knob as soon I saw Teece with her dark pink strap shoved into Anaya's mouth, the career coordinator only sporting her white blouse and a sex glow.
"What the...fuck...Teece?" I sounded confused as hell as I took them in. Teece ignored me, still holding the girl's head, wanting her strap deeper in her. Anaya was moving her head away, her cheeks flushed as she tried to remove herself from the situation quickly.
"I know we're not together anymore, but the career coordinator, Teece?"
"I was a fucking dog when you met me, Tino," Teece said harshly, laughing a little, "What more do you expect from me."
She took off the strap, slowly putting back on her clothes like this was an everyday thing for her. Anaya avoided eye contact with me, her mouth shut as she put on her clothes. I closed the office door behind me, folding my arms across my chest as I stared at my ex.
"Sometimes you make me not regret what I did back in Wisconsin. Pushing you feels like the right thing right about now, Teece," I said, my hands balled into fists.
"I won't be pushed anymore. And I won't be belittled. I was always second when Keris or Anaela was in the picture. All I did was try to gain your love and attention. I know I might not have been right for all I've caused, but it was for the right reason."
"Sometimes the right reason doesn't mean shit," I snapped at her.
"I'm sorry, Valentine. I didn't know," Anaya said genuinely.
