The bright prison cell was quiet, empty. The only noise was the footsteps of the occasional scientist who would walk past or the banging that would come from one of her neighbours.

The room was bright white, fluorescent lights burned her eyes and made them sting. The only furniture that it had was a single bed, devoid of any comfort.

From its appearance one would expect it to smell sterile, like a hospital, however the room smelt damp and old, the contrast confusing to the senses.

There was a glass wall that looked out into a corridor, the wall opposite her cell was made of stone. y/n believed that this is what it felt like to be an animal in a zoo, to be watched and observed be people walking past. A lack of privacy and a never ending boredom.

She had lost track of the number of days she had been locked up in there. It could have been weeks, months, years. It was hard to tell.

Her body was exhausted along with her mind from being poked and prodded by scientist trying to figure out what makes her tick, how to get her to use her abilities, how to weaponise her.

A loud explosion woke y/n from her staring competition with the wall. A loud siren piercing her ears almost simultaneously. Jumping hard from her slouched position on the bed with her heart racing from the loud sounds that disturbed the silence, y/n watched as officers with guns rushed past towards the exit to try and hold off whoever caused the explosion.

The ear shattering explosions and gun shots continued for a while. The old building shaking and cracking, debris falling from the celling.

Y/n felt tense as what felt like the hundredth explosion went off in the distance. She flinched at the painful noise.

Two figures appeared in front of her view, people who she was used to seeing in passing, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.

Y/n watched as the Maximoff twins made their way towards the exit. before they left, Wanda Maximoff turned to y/n's enclosure and used her powers to unlock the door. Unable to leave her there with no means to defend herself or escape. Wanda gave her a slight nod before she was lifted by her twin and they disappeared in a blur of blue light.

The possibility of escaping brought hope to her shattered body, though the fear of getting caught by an agent was trying to get a hold of her mind.

Deciding that the pros outweigh the cons and remembering that she could defend herself with her new found powers, y/n walked toward the door and slid it open.

Taking a step out into the corridor sent chills over her body, the floor being freezing against her bare feet. Bracing herself for the possible danger y/n began walking in the direction that she hoped would lead her to freedom.

Once she made it to the end of the corridor she heard the sound of people fighting, gun shots hitting metal. Y/n slid against the wall nearest to her to hide from whoever was around the corner.

The fighting fell silent and With her heart pounding in her ears, she cautiously peaked around the corner and was met with the sight of a man dressed in blue, white and red. Stars and Stripes.

Now y/n has been a captive of hydra for quite a while but she would have to have been living under a rock to not recognise the man, Steve Rogers, Captain America.

Steve was talking to a bald man with a monocle, dressed all in black. A man who was unfortunately familiar to her. Baron Strucker.

"Baron Strucker, Hydra's number one thug" Steve Rogers said

"Technically I'm a thug for shield" the man countered him

"Technically your unemployed. Where's Loki's sceptre" y/n gave a slight shudder and the mention of the sceptre that had turned her world upside down.
