Chapter 3

Never regret anyone, because at one point it was all you wanted.

The following morning was a Monday. Which meant one thing.

            School.

Which also meant that I have to face my dear and lovely backstabbing ex best friend and also my cheater ex boyfriend as a bonus. Oh doesn’t that sound fun?!

            Not.At.All.

I have plenty of friends, who needs them?  Smirking at that thought, I dragged myself off my bed and to the bathroom. Who thought that someone you use to be so close with becomes someone you now hate? Well…Em and I haven’t actually been that close ever since the beginning of the year, she’s always been trying to climb up that social ladder. She still is, and would do anything to reach the top. That probably includes stealing Xavier away from me. Speaking of Xavier, he was never even that good of a boyfriend. Honestly…we dated because people thought that we looked good together, but now that I think about it, we weren’t even meant to be.

            Eugh. Stop thinking about it.

Friendship and love is all just a game to people these days. So why bother to trust. Everything was meant to break anyway. Anger started building up in me so I splashed some cold water onto my face. The cool sensation felt nice and cooled me down. I dabbed off all the water with a soft towel and applied lotion to moisturize my skin. To be honest, my skin was pretty clear and my natural features weren’t half as bad.

I put on a thin line of liquid eyeliner, extending it a bit at the edge to make a cat eye look. Then curled my lashes and applied layers of my mascara. To top it off, I put on a coat of my favorite pink lip gloss. Letting my hair fall down, I combed it through so that there were no tangles. It reached just a bit above my waist. Thank God it actually looked nice today.

Satisfied with my appearance, I went over to my closet and picked out an outfit that didn’t say, “My best friend backstabbed me with my ex boyfriend who has been cheating on me for the last five months and I was totally clueless about it.”

Yup, today was going to be real fun.

I slid on a pair of high waist dark blue jeans and a teal colored blouse with studs around my shoulder, then slipped on my black colored heels. I grabbed my canvas styled school bag and got into my 1960’s classic light blue buggy.

            Hell, here I come.

Slamming shut the car door, I threw my keys into my bag and walked over to the school building. I really don’t know what I was going to get myself into today.

The weather was actually quite nice today, but when I pushed open the front door of the school, the atmosphere wasn’t so nice anymore. I was ready for all the drama I was going to face today. Em won’t be so happy after I punch off her plaster smile.

The hallways were swarming with students chattering and laughing. Halfway to my locker, someone popped up behind me and shook my shoulders. I whimpered softly as fear ran through my body. Squeezing shut my eyes, I let out three words that I feared, “Don’t hurt me,”
