friends... with HER? || chapter 17

I sighed as I sat down in my seat next to Lila. She looked over at me. "Hey, we started off on the wrong foot a while ago. Do you maybe wanna.... like... start over..?" She asked, with a genuine smile and stuck out her hand.

I looked at her, scanning her for any sense of lies. Nothing? She GENUINELY wants to be friends with me! I smiled and shook her hand, "Hi, my name's y/n." I said.

Lila's eyes lit up, "and my name is Lila. It's nice to meet you."

I looked at Miss Bustier. "Turn to page 324 please," she said. I turned the pages in my book and the rest of the class was spent learning and a few whispers here and there by me and Lila talking.

Turns out Lila is really sweet, she just has mommy and daddy issues. We spoke more after class.

~At Lunch~

"Wait, so your dad isn't with you or your mom?" I asked Lila.

"Yeah, my dad left when I was younger. I think he left cause I wasn't good enough for him. On top of that my mom got a new job so she's never around anymore. I don't know why I want attention so much, I guess it's just cause I wasn't given much as a child. I just wish that my mom could at least spend a little more time with me or at least love me a little more! Maybe if I get famous my dad will come back and tell me why he left.." She said to me.

I frowned and side-hugged her. "Thank you for trusting me with this information, Lila. I hope your mom comes to her senses and sees what an amazing daughter she has, if she doesn't, we'll then that's her loss. You're an amazingly beautiful lady and you don't deserve a life like this where your parents don't give you attention. Also, I say your dad is a dick. I mean like what the heck!! How could he leave you?? You just need love," I said to her.

She started to tear up.
I rubbed her arm trying to comfort her.

"I just wish that someone could teach me how to live life right! But I only know how to lie. That's the only way I know how to get through to everyone without them knowing me like this," she started to let tears fall down her cheeks.

I pulled her into a hug. "Just because you only know how to lie doesn't make up your personality. You can change. I know you can," I smile at her. I pull away from the hug and wipe her tears.

"Now don't be sad, let's eat some food!" I grinned, making Lila laugh. We got some food and went to sit down with Adrian and Nino.

Nino scoffed, "You brought her?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yeah, I did. you got a problem with that four-eyes?" I hissed. He flinched at the insult I said. I don't think it was that much of an insult though.

"Woah, guys! Let's not forget we're all friends here," Adrian says.

Nino rolls his eyes, "Not with the liar."

I grabbed his shirt, "Say that again retard.. I. Dare. You..."

Lila let out a small gasp. "Hey, Y/n, it's fine. L-let him go," she said.

I frowned and narrowed my eyes at him. "Not until he apologizes," I say. Nino lets out a huge scoff.

"No way!" He yells.

I raise my fist at his face. "Don't be a pussy and APOLOGIZE to the lady!" I yelled back. Lila grabs my fist as Adrian goes in between us and pushes us away from each other. I see Alya and Marinette rush over.

Alya narrowed her eyes a Nino. "What did you do to y/n?" She asked him calmly. I smiled at him. His eyes widened, "YOU BELIEVE THEM OVER ME!? I'M YOUR BOYFRIEND!!" Nino yells.

My eyes widened. I felt a knot in my throat but I quickly walk over to him. I was boiling with anger. "Venom now," I think to him.

I raise my fist in the air as venom takes over my hand and punch his face as hard as I can. "Don't yell at my best friend you fucking bitch," I say.

Alya's eyes widened as she ran over between me and Nino. She looks at me and then at him. She hugs me, "thank you, but you didn't need to do that," she says in a soft tone. I smile, "I'm sorry for punching your bitch of a boyfriend."

Venom lets me have my hand once more.

She giggles and helps Nino up. "You knocked him out..!" Alya exclaims. I look down. "Sorry," I apologize again.

"No no, it's fine. Just you got stronger then," she says with a smile then walks away with Nino on her back. I would help but I feel as if I've done enough.

Everyone stared at me in shock. I look around, "what?" I ask.

Lila runs and hugs me. "That was fucking awesome!" She yells. I smile and look over at Marinette, who's giving me a sheepish smile. I then look at Adrian who's just standing there, petrified.

I hug Lila back and then she lets go. I walk over to Adrian. "Uhm, I'm sorry for hitting your best friend..," I said, uneasily. He smiles a bit, "yeah it was my best friend but DANG THAT WAS HOT!" He whisper-yelled at me.

I giggle and hug him. "You're such a dork!" I say. He smiles and hugs me back. "Yeah but I'm your dork," He whispers. I let go of him and go over to Marinette.

"I'm so sorry you had to see that!" I bow to Marinette as a form of apology. She giggles. "It's fine! I'm just glad you stood up for Alya," she says with a grin.

"Also, your friends with Lila?" Marinette asks. I narrow my eyes a bit, "yeah! We've been talking more."

Marinette nods. "That's cool!" She says.

Lila comes up to me and grabs my hand, "Come on y/n we should get to class, lunch is about to end!" She says. I smile and wave bye to Marinette. As I get dragged away by Lila I blow a kiss to Marinette and one to Adrian once Mari looks away.

Adrian blows one back, then I'm out of the cafeteria. "I'm so glad we have this class together! And we sit together!" Lila smiles.

"Also I'm sorry for dragging you out there but Lunch really was about to end," she says nervously. We sit down in our seats as the bell rings. I giggle, "you weren't lying!"

She smiles at me and nods.

~After school~

I began to leave the school but Lila chased after me, she actually keeps her distance most of the time. She hugs me and whispers into my ear, "I know it hasn't even been a day yet but already, you're the truest friend I have," she says. I smile and hug her.

"I'll see you tomorrow Lila."

"See you tomorrow Y/n!"

Ending with that, Lila runs off as I wait for Alya and Marinette. We walk Mari home and we head back to Alyas. I think about the events of today. I'm pretty sure Nino got out of the nurses' office fine.

I smile as I don't have to worry about Lila being a bitch anymore.
