-a/n, sorry if it changes POV midway, that stuff always confuses me, but it will start from your POV and don't forget to like and vote!-
you woke up to light shining through the window in into your eyes, as well as the sweet smell of Niki's freshly bakes bread flowing through the air.
you had arrived in L'manburg a few months prier, in escape of your parents harsh ways. on the way of running, you found this place. Wilbur took you in will welcoming arms.
in almost an instant, you tubbo and Tommy became the best of friends, even thought you were of course a few years older than the two, they both still treated you like a little sister they sworn to protect with their lives.
Niki also became your best friend, being the only other girl, and only other person to gossip to.
then- there was Fundy. you two didnt get a long well, you still dont to this day. you both deal with each other if needed, an as you are both fighting for the same country, but you never talk and always seem to disagree on everything. after getting out of bed, you change and walk outside for fresh air. Walking over to Niki's bakery, you see Wilbur sitting at his desk reading something, you figured you would talk to him later, as you were to exited to taste Niki's delicious treats.
You walk through the glass door, hearing a chime from above you ring.
"we're not open yet!" Niki's soft voice calls from the kitchen, after hearing a customer walk in early. "cant open for me?" Niki walks out the kitchen door to behind the counter, flour covering her once brown apron.
"how could i say no to you" she says cheerfully. she grabs some fresh pastries and bread, then sits down with me to chat.
after what felt like such a short amount of time (yet an hour had passed) Wilbur walks in. he's wearing brown pants and a yellow shirt with a brown jacket over the top. he has his iconic beanie on covering up is messy hair and he has small circles under his eyes. they were barely noticeable with the glasses he wore over top.
"Niki we need to ta-" he stops his sentence when his eyes land on me, fear almost instantly casting over his face
"what is it Wilbur?" Niki askes the frozen brunette. he sighs, walking over to the both of us.
"i may as well tell the both of you"
"tell us what?" i question him, the anticipation walking all over us.
he lets a large sigh escape his lips yet again. looking over at Niki, then over to me almost immediately. i could see something wrong, he is looking at me, worry latching onto his face, or is it sadness? i really couldn't tell, so i assumed it is a mix. He looks down at his feet. the suspension is killing me by now. i could tell it was killing Niki too, as when i looked over to her, her face was covered in worry and anticipation.
"y/n" he states my name, i turn my head from Niki to the man in front of me, humming in response to let him know im listening. what ever Wilbur is going through right now, and is about to tell us, i want to be there for him, and listening to him is the best thing i can do right now.
"do you remember when i let you into my great nation? do you remember what you promised me on that glorious day? " pride now laced his voice as he re-announced the memory he is picturing in his head.
"of course i do Wilbur" the day plays back in my mind. the day i arrived here it was one of the warmest and sunniest days i've seen so far. Wilbur welcomed me after seeing the state i was in and listened to me through the whole thing. i told him about my village and the trauma i has experienced days before hand. he said i was welcome as long as i needed. as long as i abide to something so important to him
"you said you would do anything for this country...anything for me" i don't my head in agreeance replaying the memory in my head again, remembering how great full i was, i wanted repay Wilbur in anyway i could, for the way he treated me, i will always thank him for that day.
"anything" i repeat, giving him the reassurance i know he needs. He purses his lips and starts nodding his head slowly, he looked back down at the ground like its the most interesting thing in the room.
"have you kept your promise?" he mumbles, still heading towards the floor
"of course wilbur, you saved me that day and i will do anything in return for you gesture to me" i smile, wanting him to know i mean it.
he continues nodding.
"Niki would you step out please? i need to discuss something with y/n" i see Niki widen her eyes in shock, then nod in understandment, leaving the room. Its now just me and the brunette alone at the small metal table.
"y/n" he says my name by itself for the second time now, for some reason it sends shivers down my spine, but quickly wash away the feeling.
the tall man standing in front of me sits down, a strange look on his face. just like before, i still cant tell what it is. he looks so serious, yet so disappointed. he reaches inside his coat and pulls out a page or two of paper. i stop what I'm thinking and look intently at the writing printed on the sheets. a part of me thinks I'm signing to be an official part of L'manburg, but that thought is quickly washed away as i realise how stupid that is, I've barely even been here for 7 months
"the day you gave me that promise" he started talking again, staring straight at me.
"I've taken it as you owing me some sort of favour" he pauses to take a breath, but it seemed more like dramatic effect. "a big favour to say the least, correct?"
i not in anticipation, agreeing that i owe him something big since that day.
i look down at the papers while he collects himself and see the letter containing my name and the letters S.M.P. but before i can point something out, hes already talking again.
"i need youto make history y/n. what im asking you to do, could quite possibly save my -our- nation" already fed up with his taking to long to get to the point, i speak my mind.
"well spit it out already wilbur, your starting to scare me"
"alright" i give a little hand gesture to him, telling him to go on.
"im telling you this now though, if you dont do this, you cant stay here anymore. this means so much to me and if you decide to not go along with it, you would basically be betraying the promise you made."
"ok! just spit it out... please." im just so tired of him taking so damn long. i mean it cant be that bad. what is he gonna do? sacrifice me? pfft as if.
he takes a big breath in, then back out.
"i warned you"
my jaw drops to the floor with shock as the next words come out of his mouth.
"in exchanged for L'manburg independence, you must marry dream."
