The deeper the love,
the more difficult the confession of it.Following a long night as the light of dawn spreads out, Naina wakes up after caressing the empty side of the bed next to her. Picking up Sameer's photograph hidden underneath the pillow, she stares at the piece of paper and spoke to herself, "Tumhe aaj bhi yahin chupna hoga..isi takiye ke neeche. Kyuki ek khadoos hai jo abhi bhi bahar so rha hai, usne agar tumhe yahan dekh liya toh use sab pata chal jayega. Aur hume use kuch nahi batana hai..yaad hai na." The next minute, she opens her medicine box with which she normally begins her day. She was about to take the pill, but halts in the middle when overheard loud noises coming from the hall, "Sameer."
Scared, she rushes there and realizes all is messed up. The fear that she was sensing was happening in real. All the books in the hall were scattered on the floor and he was there amidst the havoc that he created himself, looking at her accusatorially.
Not meeting his eyes and ignoring him, she said, "Yeh kya kar rahe ho tum, aur meri books ko bina mujhse puche haath kyu lagaya tumne."
"Jaise tumne lagaya tha bina mujhse puche mere wallet ko. Vapis do."
"Kya?"
"Tum janti ho main kya maang raha hoon. Woh photo vapis karo."
"Nahi hai mere pass, jala di. Meri photo thi, tumhe rakhne ka koi haq nahi tha. Jaise meri in books ko chunne ka koi haq nahi tha tumhe. Mehmaan banke aaye ho yahan tum aur.."
Interrupting her, he spoke, "Aur kya Naina, bolo. Tumhari photo, tumhari books, tumhara ghar, tumhara shehar, tumhare haq, aur main..main kaun hoon tumhara. Ajeeb toh mujhe kal hi lag raha tha jab tumhe dekha tha yahan is shehar mein jisse sirf tum nhi balki hum jude hue the. Usi jagah par ghar basaye hue jahan hum sabse zyada waqt guzara karte the..ek saath. Usi rang ke kapdo mein jo rang mujhe pasand hua karta tha tum par..wohi white color. Wohi payal tumhare pairon mein pehne dekha jo maine di thi kabhi tumhe. Tumhare wohi khule baal jaise mujhe ache lagte the humesha se. Tumhara usi School mein job karna jahan hum mile the pehli baar, jahan hum dost bane, jahan hume pyaar.."
"Koi pyaar nhi hai..humare beech. Sab ittefaq tha, sab ittefaq hai. Samjhe na tum," she finally vent out her buried anger on him.
"Tumhe jhooth bolna aaj bhi nahi aaya, Naina. Jab bhi jhooth bola karti thi..apni fingers ko aise hi cross kar leti thi, yaad hai na. Par tumhari yeh books sab sach keh gayi mujhe. Mere un sabhi sawalon ka jawaab de gayi tumhari yeh books jo tumhari chuppi ya gussa nahi de payi. Pasand nhi hua karti thi na mujhe yeh kabhi bhi, par tumhe bahut thi humesha se. Kya isiliye har book mein meri tasveer chupake rakhi hai tumne. Ya yeh bhi koi ittefaq hi hoga tumhara."
"Manti hoon koi ittefaq nhi hai, par pyaar bhi nhi hai. Galti se rakh di. Bas..mil gaya jawaab," she argues irrationally.
"221 galtiyaan..really. Toh ek hi galti..baar baar dohrayi tumne. Chalo maan lete hai tumne galti ki, toh sudhar deta hoon tumhari galti ko main aaj. Jala hi dete hai in tasverron ko bhi. Meri tasveer, mera haq."
She snatches his photographs and starts gathering all the books. Seeing her coldness towards him, he pulls her, and asked again, "Kyu? Kal se yehi sawaal puch raha hoon baar baar. Aakhir kyu Naina, kyu kar rhi ho yeh sab. Pehle hi bahut lamhe kho chuke hai hum ek dusre se durr rehkar, ab kyu mujhse mooh pher rhi ho."
"Main mooh pher rhi hoon? Chodkar tum gaye the mujhe. Yahin isi jagah par. Main toh aaj bhi wahin khadi hoon. Par tumhara intezaar nhi kiya karti ab main. Kyuki pyaar nhi karti ab tumse."
"Phir se jhooth..sab jhooth. Nahi karti pyaar toh yahan kyu reh rhi ho. Nahi karti pyaar toh kyu yahan meri tasveer hai har jagah."
"Kyuki kiya tha kabhi tumse pyaar, par ab nahi hai. Nahi chahiye mujhe ab tum, tumhara saath, tumhara pyaar. Kuch nahi chahiye. Tumse juda kuch bhi nahi chahiye mujhe ab." When the wait for the return of your loved ones becomes forever, your heart is broken into so many pieces that they cannot be counted even in million years.
