Dazzling sun rays smiled at Abena as she drew up the curtains and she smiled back. With her eyes closed, she said a word of prayer, prepared her to do list for the day and hurriedly entered the washroom to freshen up as she headed to the hall for morning devotion with Papa and Maame. Sissy! Sissy! She heard Akua scream as she crushed her with a hug. Whoa, when did you come home last night? I was waiting for you to read me my bedtime stories, she pouts. Sissy is sorry okay, she wouldn't do that again and also get you a lollipop, yaayyy. Akua smiles at Abena and  runs of to call Maame and Papa while Abena takes her seat. They joined her shortly, Abena led the worship and praises. Papa exhorted the family by picking his text from John 1:3, it reads " All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made". He went on to tell them that God made all of them hence has plans for each one of them as the Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11 that " For I know the thoughts I have for you, thoughts of good and not of evil to secure you a good future". Maame then prayed and left with her two girls to the kitchen to make breakfast whereas Papa left to finish his business in his room.
Steamed porridge with groundnut, milk and bread was served for breakfast. Abena prepared Akua for school with the help of Maame, Papa arrived just in time to drop her off before heading to work. Maame and Abena picked a bus to the shop as Abena is on vacation and she do with more hands at the shop since customers are trooping in more than before. Maame has two shops, a supermarket and a salon, even though she has enough workers because usually the salon needs more attention,  she tends to sit there most often hence rendering the  workers at the supermarket free from her watch. Abena greeted all the workers cheerfully as they welcomed her in bone crushing hugs, she left the salon to the supermarket. Sitting behind the desk engrossed in her novel was Abena before she heard a familiar voice call her name. Kwakuuuu, what are you doing here?He pretends to frown, can't I look for my friend again? Heyyyyy, cut the pretense, you know you can. J can see you're  enjoying  your  novel, can I get a summary? Sure but that would be when am done, okay! What have you  been up to since morning? Well, I've  been helping mom at her shop and I decided to pass by friend's place to say hello only to be met by an empty house so I decided to come here but I went to the salon first to say hello to Maame then she directed me here after a few pleasantries and tadaa here I am. What a stressful day you've had! Ooh poor boy, she teased him. All too soon the clouds were getting dark Kweku assisted Maame and Abena to close up the shopsas they head home to prepare dinner for the family. Maame and Abena emerged from the kitchen with Rice and Egg stew. Kwaku joined them for dinner as they discussed the good old days amidst other issues. Abena saw Kwaku off and went to shower after which she helped Akua with her assignments and read her bedtime stories. Abena slipped off to her room after giving Akua a peg on her cheeks. She jumped on her and doozed off to wonderland.
