PROLOGUE

Cooper Reynolds was an only child that grew up to love racing of all forms, even dreamed of being one herself.

Her parents separated when she 11.

Her mother is a doctor the United States.

She lived with her parents in the United States up until her parents separated.

She then lived with her father in France for a year but eventually moved to Germany at age 13.

Her mother wasn't the most supportive of her dream, since she always feared for her safety.

Her father attended every karting, formula 2, and formula 3 race he could, even when he couldn't he'd called immediately after it ended.

He never got to see her getting to formula 1, as he passed away on duty a month before her F1 contract was signed.

Sebastian took Cooper into his family after his childhood friend passed, with the promise that he'd take care of her and to mentor her in formula 1 when she got there.

He had introduced her to the drivers, some that he knew would have her back as she was the only female driver.

Lewis immediately became a close friend to her and had her back through thick and thin. Daniel had become the overprotective brother that she would never admit that she wanted.

Then there were her friends from the karting, formula 2, and formula 3 days. Lando, being the annoying brother in her life that seemed to know when and why she needed coffee.

Pierre was another big brother to her that would slip her a Red Bull, knowing it's the only energy drink she would drink, always have a hoodie for her at night races, because for some reason that was when she'd be the coldest.

The one thing all her friends had in common was their overprotectiveness. They didn't like it when a guy wanted more than a friendship with their friend or in most cases a little sister. No one was good enough for her

And Max Verstappen wasn't going to be an exception to their overprotectiveness.

Not when he's her rival for the championship, he'd have to prove to them that he was worthy of her

That he wasn't just distracting her by dating her, so it'll be an easy win for him.

He developed feelings for her when she wasn't afraid to go toe to toe with him in an argument, most importantly she went toe to toe with his father in an argument when she was accused of something.

He found her competitiveness and her drive to win adorable

Most importantly he found her kindness and love for everyone to be refreshing and beautiful.

He'd never admit that he was falling for the Mercedes driver

But wanted her in his life even if it had to be secret from everything. Because he was utterly in love with the girl.
