ILHAM'S POV

"One house!" Principal Marc said

All the chattering that had been going on ceased.

I watched from the classroom block which was the post Tiara assigned me to as Principal Marc addressed the whole school.

Soon, assembly was over and people started rushing back to the block.

I walked to the Senior school block and climbed the staircase to the SS3 hallway.

"Babygirl!" Riyike screamed almost rendering me deaf "I missed you" she said hugging me.

"I missed you too" I said hugging her back.

We weren't able to hangout during the holiday because she had a two month long modelling Gig.

"Aren't you vlogging again?" I aked

"Nope, changed my mind but guess what.." she said grinning.

I just raised my brows at her.

"Well....I finally convinced daddy about the boarding issue" she said excitedly

"Really" I said equally excited

"Yes but with a condition" she said "I wouldn't be modelling till we graduate"

Ehn?

I have never been so shook. Riyike loved modelling like it was her life, so how she agreed is quite baffling.

"Well anything not to be confined to the four walls of this school for a year" she said after noticing my expression.

"Are you that terrified of being a boarder?" I asked chuckling

"Who wouldn't be" she said "Me I can't deal with all this Lady Koi Koi and Bunk Shaker wahala o"

This girl is funny sha

"You know those people are fictitious" I said rolling my eyes.

"Whatever" she said as we got to SS3 Emerald, the commercial class for SS3.

She went into the class and, I kid you not, hugged every single person present.

Drama Queen!

She picked her seat at the back of the class and skipped back to me.

"I brought cookies" I said

"Yay!!!" she squealed jumping on the spot

What sorcery is this..??

"Wait, don't tell me you left it with Aasiya" she whirled around

"Well I did?" I said more like questioned.

"You know what happens when you leave food with her" she said whining and storming off to my class while grumbling under her breathe.

The kind of friends I ha...

Ouch!

I bumped into something or rather someone.

"Shit!"

"I'm sorry"

The person and I said simultaneously

"Oh hey" I said smiling at the person

Yaseen

"Hi Ilham" he said "Sorry, I wasn't concentrating"

"Oh, no I wasn't looking where I was going too"

"Uhm...did you by chance see Soraya in Emerald?" he asked

"Nope"

"Okay thanks, see you later" he said sending a small smile my way.

"Yeah"

I got to my class and oh, what a sight to behold!

The class was rowdy as hell.

Asher was still vlogging whatever he was vlogging, Aasiya and Riyike were at one side bickering over cookies, Kamil and Jamal were laughing very loudly and talking animatedly about God knows what, Some boys from Technology were arguing over something and the list goes on.

I walked to my seat shaking my head.

"I told she was going to finish the thing Ilham" Riyike said stamping her feet.

"I didn't finish it but since you decided to outrightly accuse me of doing so, I might as well finish it" she said shooting daggers at Riyike

"Just give it to her Aasiya please" I said sighing

"Fine" she huffed

She pouted and handed the cookies to Riyike before sitting and bringing out her phone.

"Well...me I have something to tell you guys" I said

"Yaseen told you he likes you?" Aasiya said, her eyes twinkling.

Oluwa o!

"No! of course not" I said frowning

I don't understand the obsession this girl has with shipping me and Yaseen. All because we were really close during lockdown and well, Aasiya being Aasiya found it cute and never stopped shipping us.

"Ah God Aasiya, when would you stop this your shipping thing, you know Ilham is too stonehearted to like anybody not to talk of she and Yaseen together" Riyike said.

"....And you continue denying the fact that he clearly likes you" she said turning to me.

I rolled my eyes.

"All that one is not doing me now abeg" I said "What I wanted to tell you is about Nimi"

They shared a look of confusion.

I narrated my earlier encounter with Nimi to them.

"Maybe it's nothing serious" Aasiya said shrugging

Well...maybe..

"I personally feel we shouldn't interfere in her life, you know she doesn't really want friends" Riyike said

"Hmm maybe it's nothing" I said shrugging

I don't know why something kept tugging at my mind that it wasn't nothing.

"I gotta go babies" Riyike said grabbing the rest of the cookies from my table and heading out of the class.

The rowdiness had reduced by now...I guess everybody had class because the siren had been rung like 10 minutes ago.

"Settle down everybody" Mr. Adeleye, who I guessed will be taking us Physics said

Everybody went to their seats and brought out new notebooks to write on.

"Finally" I huffed as the siren for break went

I can't believe I survived 200 minutes of class on an empty stomach

"So that will be all for today" the Economics teacher said

Immediately he left the class, all hell broke loose.

GrandView students, I thought shaking my head.

Aasiya didn't offer Economics so I guessed she'll be at the Quadrangle.

I took my sanitizer with me as I made a mental note to adjust my uniform in the restroom on my way to meet Aasiya.

As I neared the restroom, I heard someone gagging like they just finished throwing up and the flush of a toilet. As i opened the door, I saw Nimi walk out of one of the stalls.

She quickly washed her hands and dried them before rushing out of the toilet with the speed of lightning.

What is it with this girl? I thought
