Requested by @hendboi and also the first hfjone chapter, woo. This chapter will be based of ecto_hazards dehumanized AU, which I looked for on Tumblr and just really enjoyed going over. I decided to use the permabackpack variant of the AU because it seems fun, and honestly a little easier for me to use.. Have fun reading! <3

Bryce sat up.

His alarm blared. He was still tired.

He yawned.

He turned over to his alarm clock, picking it up and just reading the time, rubbing an eye with his free hand.

He placed it back down, and pushed his blanket off of him. He'd look around the apartment.

Where did he go?

He got up and put on his slippers with little effort, and began to look around.

"Liam?" He called out, before looking under his table.

It was the morning after Liam had originally showed up at his doorstep, a small green backpack pleading for help to save the ones on The Plane.

Bryce sighed and walked towards his door.

Just to the left, was a mounted coat hanger, and on that coat hangar was Liam, hanging by the little handle on his head, snoring softly.

Bryce chuckled and lifted the little sentient backpack up, placing him on the ground.

"Hey, Liam," he'd nudged him, "Wake up."

Liam stretched his spindly limbs, before using his arms to sit up.

"Huh..? Did I sleepwalk or something?" He looked around, confused.

"Probably. No idea how you got up there though." He motioned to the coat hanger, before walking away and towards his fridge.

Liam got up and scurried after him.

"Do you feel, er, hungry, in that form?" Bryce asked, taking out a carton of eggs, as well as a packet of bacon from his freezer. He opened a cabinet and pulled out a pan.

"Not really. I guess I never felt hungry on The Plane, like, at all.."

"Gotcha." He'd place a little square of butter on the pan and cranked the stove on.

Liam climbed up the chair Bryce placed for him, and sat on the edge of the table right beside it. Hesitantly, he unzipped himself, and pulled out the notes Stone had given him before disappearing.

Liam struggled afterwards, but managed to zip himself shut.

"Hey, I dunno if I told you but I got these notes." He placed them neatly on the table, waiting for Bryce's reaction.

"You did, last night. I told you, I don't think they mean too much." Liam frowned, and picked up the note labeled SF 482719548284621732345446827354258476354761922487665745.6. (Don't worry its accurate.)

"But this one led me here, to you! That's worth some points, right?" Liam waved it around.

Bryce sighed exhaustedly, sliding open a drawer and taking out a spatula.

"You're only here because you told me you didn't have anywhere to go." He used the spatula to move around the newly cracked eggs.

"Liam, I don't need you to be.. no. I don't want you to be interfering with my life. Everything has been perfect ever since I left The Plane. I actually wanted to try, for once. My life sucked before I realized how it felt to have it ripped away. Don't ruin this for me." Bryce's grip tightened on the spatula he held.
