*Trigger warning*

The beautiful golden sun shone into your room for the first time in forever. And yet you're still thinking about the bizarre events from last week.

Suddenly, a knock could be heard at the door, breaking your daydreaming session.

"Come in." you mused.

A man opened the door, it was her 'father'. A booze-fueled druggie old fart. You can't even see his sharp crimson orbs because his long, unkept, wavy brunet hair was covering his eyes.

"Ah, father." you mumbled with slight surprise. "What brings you here?"

The man frowned, and pinched his forehead. "Ugh, shut up, I hate your voice. You'll be living with your, mother, from now and on. So pack up your shit. And medication bills for your illness and iron deficiency bull crap is funded by... him. I was forced to do this, so no complaining, brat." He glared at her with his blazing crimson eyes, then left while muttering 'I shouldn't have hired that annoying hormonal teenage d*ck'.

Your father had divorced your mother when you were only five, so you didn't really remember much of your mother, but all memories of her was good ones. She lost your custody, so you're kind of forced to lived with your druggie father 'till... all of this.

You were more stunned than ever, what to do now? Why so sudden?

Um...

Was he actually serious about moving away? Like, right now? Today?

Okay, cool. No more druggie father. Yay.

You finally decided to pack all of your items. After a while, the front doorbell ring can be heard  through the corridor of your large but unkept mansion. Then bickering and argument was heard. It lasted for a good while, about 15 minutes or so. Now, the bickering stopped. Soft footsteps were heard, then a soft knock was heard on her door.

"Come in."

A youthful and short woman enters the room, a calm and sleepy expression decorated her face. Silky hair adorned her features, and soft eyelashes accentuate her pools. Now you understand why people said you had her eyes.

"Is that you, sweets?" She asked softly, her voice very feminine.

"Mama?" you were startled, she looks just like how you remembered her seven years ago.

"Darling!" The woman hugged the girl immediately, effectively surprising you. "Mama..." you returned the woman's hug with no remorse.

"I missed you a lot, you know..." your mother whispered softly. "Yeah, me too..." you spoke back with a smile.

Mother pulled back with a gentle grin, "Are you done packing?" she sweat-dropped slightly at the large amount of boxes labeled  'books' in bold letters, written using a large marker.

"Just a little bit more and I'll be done packing." you grinned, putting your last items into small boxes. After that, you carried you bags and boxes, taking them to Mother's car.

--

The ride over her house was pretty long, since it was all the way at the other end of Naples, and Naples weren't a small city either.

The small girl silently watch trees roll past and the city goes by, minding it's own business, and she minded her own.

"sweetie, we're here." Mother announced, the petite woman parked the car inside a decent sized house's garage. It was a simple house, not too small, not too big either. Just perfect, like what Goldilocks said.

"Donnina," Mother smiled gently, "welcome to your new home."

You smiled, "Yeah, my new home."

'Finally free.'

--

Everything has been going well for the past few weeks, you were recovering at blinding speed due to better health treatments and good mental care provided by your mother.

She was a good mother, giving care and support that you had never received throughout your entire nightmarish life in your father's old mansion, not to mention her cooking was incredible.

Mother was kind, no bad words were said, unlike your old fart that only said hurtful things to you everytime you were in his line of sight, her words were pure and white. When mischievous acts was pulled on her, no anger was felt, no punches were pulled. Instead, your pranks recoiled back to you, resulting the two of you to tackle each other playfully.

Well, all is good excluding the odd convo-slash-arguments that Mother often had in her calls.

It often goes like "Why are you still calling me?!" or "I'll call the police on you if you call me again, bastard." and worst case scenario (and sadly, most often) "I'd rather kill myself than returning her to you! Stop calling me!"

Today, one of those 'conversations' ended with her slamming the landline phone a little too hard and almost jamming the poor thing.

But whoever is calling your mother, she certainly wouldn't cut ties with them, or, couldn't.

Maybe even shouldn't.

"Ma?" you tried to ask as softly as you can, trying to not enrage the small woman any further. Mother was surely petite and calm-looking, but she is real feral when you piss her off. It somehow made you like that hidden side of your mother.

Mother sighed for a bit, then turned to you with a sweet grin. "What's up, Donnina?"

You pursed your lips, because sometimes, curiosity kills, so you just prompted to smile instead, "Never mind, I forgot what I was about to ask." she smiled back and ushered you to take a shower, and do your bedtime routine because 'you stink'.

You slept like a log that night, unaware of the storm that is coming.

A/N: Not much to write here but I promise the juicy stuff is just a chapter away. Next chapter is the good stuff, so stay tuned!

(Not so) Fun fact(s): You could say these early chapters are memories of your current self in the original Vento Aureo timeline (which is like, 6 or something years apart from the current timeline), so the reason your parents' names aren't shown is because you actually forgot lol.
