chapter eight

Callie's POV-

We had got to the hospital about an hour ago and within ten minutes of us arriving and putting Sofia in daycare, Payton was called into an emergency surgery.

Derek was already in a surgery, so she was the only neuro attending free.

As I walk down the hall way to check up on my patient I saw meredith walking towards me with a sad smile.

"Hey what's up mer?"

"Hi callie, I'm fine. Just missing Christina." She replied with a small smile before walking off.

I walked towards the or board so I could see how much longer Payton is estimated to be.

As I reach the board, I see a woman analysing it already, She must be yangs replaced.

"Hey, I'm callie torres and you must be the new head of cardio." I politely say as I hold out my hand for her to shake.

"Maggie pierce, I dont mean to be rude as we just met but do you know when either one of the doctor greys are going to be free?"

I wonder what she wants with Payton and grey, I mean they aren't even in the same speciality so it can't be for a consult.

But before I can answer, Payton walks out of or 2 with a blank face.

Meaning she had lost the patient, she takes it really hard when she loses a patient.

"Theres Payton grey now, but give her a moment." I tell the woman before walking over to the youngest grey.

I wrap my arms around her the best I could and just hold her.

"Yes." She says out of nowhere, letting her forehead rest against my shoulder.

"Yes what?" I asked confused as i gently pull away so I could see her face.

"Yes I'll move in with you." She says with a smile before leaning back into me.

"Really?" I ask, as I gently rub her back gently.

"Mhm." She mumbled into my shoulder. "I enjoy staying with you and Sofia, me and the twins will have to share a room for a while anyway so yeah I'll move into the guest room!"

After a moment we both jumped hearing someone clear their throat making her pull away from me.

Shit I forgot about peirce.

But before we could even speak to the woman, meredith came running over to us.

Wow this is just pure chaos.

"Payton grey, why did I just have an intern tell me that my baby sister was crying?" The older grey says as she pulls Payton away from me to exam her.

"I was not crying!" Payton laughs as she pushes meredith away.

"Hey, I'm Maggie peirce." Maggie speaks up, probably done being ignored.

"Oh uh I'm meredith." She says as she shakes her hand and Payton steps forward to shake it next.

"Payton."

"Can I talk to you both quickly, you are the Grey sisters right?"

"Uh yeah?" Payton says as she grabs my hand and leans against me. "But we mostly go by our names as we aren't just sisters, that's no our whole personality."

Shes probably just tired and wants to get off her feet, she is pregnant with twins and just finished a 4 hour surgery.

"Then can we talk?" Maggie asked, ignoring Payton's comment.
