Fly away fluff

Before graduating you and Eddie have been on and off he could never commit himself to you to afraid to screw up what he had with you so you settled for friends with benefits .

He was stupid to let you slip through his fingers but it was time for you to move on and get out of  this god forsaken town without him. The letter rested in your hands it determined your faith you couldn't believe the moment was finally here you couldn't bring yourself to open it not yet in anyway. The thought of leaving everyone behind hurt and when you thought about leaving Eddie it made you wanna rip the letter up and never speak of such a moment.

It was a Saturday so you made your way over to Steve's house as per usual you enter the door envelope in hand waving it around. Robin and Steve run over and practically grab it from your hand "will you join me in Connecticut or stay here with these losers " she mocks the boys . You look around and see Eddie nowhere to be found , "Don't worry darling here I am" he has a big beautiful bouquet of flowers  he hands you them and kisses your forehead. You look at the beautiful flowers taking in their beauty "wow Eds these are breath taking " he brushes his hand over your cheeks "Just kiss already you weirdos" Steve laughs practically pushing your heads together. Robin pushes your letter to your chest and insists you open it "I can't Eddie you do it " you hand the letter to him and walk to the other side of the room.

He opens it slowly scanning the page not reading it aloud he puts the page back into the brown envelop he was never good at hiding his emotions, his face was scrunched eyebrows furrowed to the naked eye it looks like You're staying in Hawking's. "Eds what is it talk to me I can handle it " your eyes are glossy as you prepare for rejection, he walks over to you hugs you tightly "you have to get use to the college life sweetheart you got in". Steve and Robin erupt with joy and they continuously tell you how great you are and how much Steve will miss you Robin is rambling about how you'll be roommates all but one person seem to be happy. Eddie walks over to you pats your back "well done Yn i'm so proud of you but I have a shift in the shop cars won't fix themselves", his whole mood shifts as he walked out he didn't understand why he had no doubt in his mind you were going to get in.

A few months later you've graduated even Eddie graduated which everyone was shocked but Eddie distanced himself stopped kissing you and being glued to your hip he was your best-friend who you dearly missed but you had to look forward no looking back.

A mere few weeks before leaving you lay in your room almost empty all memories packed away until you stumble upon one a picture of you and Eddie you pack it away another one for the storage unit you think to yourself. You wished you had more time wished he'd just appear to you and talk to you tell you what you did wrong even. You can't help but be proud of him and the man he's become a full time worker a mechanic everything his dad wasn't. You stop for a moment and you think about when you're gone he could potentially meet someone someone who isn't you. Your body starts to heat up filled with jealousy but you weren't his and he wasn't yours you plummet on your head , all the memories of yous just laying on the bed cuddling and talking about the future but they are all memories. 

With Steve and Eddie on their lunch break 

"Dude grow a pair of balls and get her for real this time" Steve is begging Eddie to talk to you begging for months on end to no avail "I can't drag her down not while she's going to take on the biggest life changing thing" he flicks his smoke to the ground . Steve groans "look dude please come to her going away party tonight at least and you have no excuse not to come" he walks to his car as his lunch break was almost over Eddie doesn't answer so only time will tell if he'll be there. 

Eddie feels stupid for letting you get away from him but compared to the life you're gonna have he has nothing to offer. He never wanted to label anything incase you found out he wasn't boyfriend material and was gonna spent the rest of his life in the trailer park , letting you go was hard but he was gonna give you one last goodbye to let you know he's so proud of you for getting out.
