Southern POV, time skip 7 hours
So the four of us learned that the so-called Patchwork Princess wouldn't be back here until the next day. We did try escaping after we got our room, but we got stopped by Eika. Now we can no longer go to the docks without supervision, because she seemed suspicious of us. Now it's the day Patchwork Princess is supposed to return and we're no closer at getting out before their boss and presumably the majority of their fleet return.
Currently I'm sitting on the bed I shared with Sunken. Blue and Xia shared the other bed. The night was the first time that I can remember sleeping on an actual bed, rather than the ocean floor. When I had woken up I found that Sunken and Xia were still asleep, Blue was awake and looking around the room, possibly for some vent that we could use as an escape hatch or something like that.
"Any luck?" I ask Blue quietly so I don't wake up Sunken or Xia.
Blue sighed in a frustrated way as she was crouching down to examine a vent. "no, it seems the vents are all too small to fit even one of us. They won't work"
"I see..." I say in a slightly sad way "then it looks more and more likely that we'll have to fight our way out"
Now Blue stood up "do we, though?" Blue asked before she looked at me with a face full of doubt "these Abyssals don't seem like how Sunken said they were. Phillipine seems overly excited all the time and that Eika seems like she just wants silence. Besides that they don't seem too hostile"
"Well that's because they haven't learned who Sunken actually is. That's why we need to escape" I respond.
Now Blue turned and walked towards me till she was besides the bed. She looked at Sunken who still seemed to be sleeping, then she looked back to me "but why then? Why are the Plains Abyssals and Trench Abyssals enemies? Sure I can understand them disliking the ones that attack each other, but from mine and Xia's experiences, it seems more like the Plains Abyssals are the hostile ones"
I looked blankly at Blue for a moment before speaking "do you not trust Sunken?"
Blue stayed quiet for a moment before sighing "to be frank, no"
"Hmm... if it were up to you then what would you do now?" I ask.
Blue seemed quite surprised by my sudden question and didn't answer for a few moments "I would meet this Patchwork Princess and ask her what is happening in this world. Because so far I'm confused. I don't know who my true allies are or my enemies. From what Southern Trench Princess said, the Plains Abyssals are our enemies, from Sunken, the Trench Abyssals, and ship girls are our enemies"
I let out a sigh and closed my eye in thought for a moment to think about what we should do. The longer we stay the more dangerous it becomes for Sunken, but from what Blue said it sounded like she thought Sunken might be tricking us in some way. I let out another sigh, and leaned back against my pillow "it seems that we'll be meeting this Patchwork Princess whether we like it or not, so how about we do it willingly?"
"I think that would be best" Blue said.
"Alright then" I said. Now Blue looked at me for a moment before she turned away and looked to Xia who groaned a bit as she seemed to wake up.
Though now I asked Blue a question that had been on my mind for a while "Hey Blue, have you ever gotten the feeling before that you know someone you see? Like you've seen their face before but you can't figure out where?"
Blue turned around to look at me with a knowing face before she nodded and said "yes, two ship girls at Midway seemed familiar, and..." she trailed off the last part.
