-Michael
There she was in front of me, just sitting on the swing looking out.
I let out a sigh, and I couldn't get my thoughts into words.
"Hey." I let out, looking down, with my hands in my pockets.
"Michael."
we stood there in silence, and I intended to be the first one to break it.
"Rebecca."
"Yea?"
"I- I. Luke is my best mate. He's been there since we were in primary school. He's like my brother, and I can't keep hurting him. I can't keep hurting you."
"I undertand. And I was going to say the same thing. Micheal your were a-"
She's going to call me a mistake.
"You were a mistake." I said before her.
Her eyes expanded.
"You were a huge mistake, that I wish I could take back."
My words that I spoke, aren't even true.
My eyes wanted to moisten.
"I don't even know why I let this happen, your not the one for me, or to even develop feelings for. A mistake. That's all you are."
You could obviously tell she was hurt, and she wanted to cry.
Seeing her like this, and knowing I'm the reason behind it, makes me feel like shit.
Telling lies, isn't going to make this easier on us.
I walked up to her with my arms open, wanting to swoop her into a hug and kiss her.
She shook her head, and hopped off the swing.
"I didn't want to hurt you." I whispered as I slowly backed up, giving her space.
Tears threatened to stream down my face again, if I didn't get away soon.
"That's awfully funny. Thats not what you said the night it finally happened." She spat out. It wasnt even hateful, it was just her trying to her hurt me like I did her. But she couldn't.
"That's different-"
"Really?"
"Yea, no that's not what I mean!"
I backed away completely this time, with the most obvious look of hurt engraved on my face and eyes,"I'm done. I'm sorry.""Fuck you Michael ."
And with that I left out from where we parked and start walking.
