"I fucked it up"

"You didn't fuck it up"

"Nope, I totally fucked it up" I take another shot, "She avoided me. All day. Can't say I blame her"

"Its just an awkward patch" Rumi rolled her eyes, "Did you even try talking to her?"

"How could I? She's avoiding me. She's stopped wearing the necklace you know?"

"You can't expect a girl to always wear the same jewelry" Rumi scoffed

"Its like she's just asking to get kidnapped" I huff taking my next shot.

"Keep taking shots like that you won't be able to get home"

"The fucks waiting for me at home? I can take care of myself" I glare

Readers POV

I dread Monday. The weekend gave me time to shake off the awkward but it still lingered in the back of my mind. Was I really going to kiss him? Where has my head been lately?

I can't see him without my brain going into over drive. I'm surprised I'm not fired yet honestly. I'm honestly avoiding him and anything that serves to remind me of that awkwardness. The feather lurks in my closet on the shelf.

I get ready for bed only for my phone to ring. I stare at the screen only to see it's not in my call list. Not on my list, not my problem. It rang to voice-mail. If it's important they'll just leave a message.

They didn't leave a message, instead they called not 2, not 3, but 5 times. I give in picking up figuring if they are that determined it must be urgent.

"Hello?"

"Hey, I'm sorry but we have your friend here at Heros Grub Pub" a woman spoke

"Wait wh-" they hung up? Seriously??

Could it have been a wrong number? Then again...it could be her, everyone has that one friend and God damnit that means I gotta go.

I get back into day clothes, grab my keys and rush out in the pouring fucking rain. She's going to get an earful.

I arrive meeting a server, "Are you (Y/N)?"

I confirm and am led to a private room. When I enter I expect to see my drunk friend but instead see the number two hero giggling to himself while playing with a feather.

This couldn't help but remind me of when he flew my drunk ass home after getting me dinner. I kinda owed him one for that.

"Hawks, what are you doing here?"

He had a drunken flush on his face as he looked at me. He blinked slowly looking a bit confused.

"Ok Hawks. Time to pack up" he is not acting like himself right now

"Oh hey~ Who... wait (y/n)? Water you doing here?" The slur in his voice was prominent

"I was called in the middle of the night, in the pouring rain. To come to drag your ass out of here"

"Fuck, don't look at me, I ave drunk" he covered his face lazily before rubbing it, "I've embarrassed"

"You're so drunk" I pinch the bridge of my nose.

He downed the last of his drink. I took this chance to pull him off the bar chair. He stumbled but regained his balance by flapping his wings.

"What's the deal? You gonna take me home?"

"Yes, we need to get you home before you do something stupid" I start leading him out to my car trying my hardest to keep him upright

"So, my place huh? You sure are forward"
