I woke up this morning wondering if last night really happened. Maybe it was a very realistic sex dream.
I was pleased to find my previous outfit from that night on the floor next to my bed when I woke up this morning, which only confirmed that our actions from last night weren't a figment of my imagination.
Thank god for that, because it was unreal.
I rushed to Thunderbird this morning to see Mollee at work and fill her in on as much as I could. She was surprised to see me so early and with so much energy as I had burst through the front door. Her eyes went wide and she dropped everything to talk to me when I said I had something she would want to hear.
"Oh, I'm excited for this," she said when I told her Niall had come over last night.
I started with telling her about the kiss. The first kiss we shared. She was ecstatic, clapping her hands and jumping around as if this were her kiss.
That's where we are caught up to now. I haven't gotten to the next details, as I am waiting for some of the guests around us to leave before I dive into telling her about the more explicit things that took place between us.
My thoughts are racing with every word he said, every touch he placed on me. I can barely think about anything else.
Mollee grins wide at the sound of the door chiming. She nods her head behind me and encourages me to look, and it's no other than Niall coming through the café.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, following him with my eyes until he stands in at my side.
"You know, I hadn't been to Thunderbird at all to my knowledge before you wanted to come here," he says. "I went back to my normal coffee shop after, and it just didn't feel right. This place has a good barista."
"I'm honored," Mollee smiles before pushing the tip jar closer to him. "We take tips."
"I'll be giving you one," he tells her, then focuses his attention on me. "Visiting your friend at work?"
I nod, not wanting to reveal that I came here for the sole purpose of telling my best friend that I hooked up with a really cute guy last night, the same one that is in front of me now. I hadn't gotten past the kiss since he came in the door. "Something like that."
"I never did catch your name," Niall says to Mollee, pretending as if he didn't already ask me on our date the other night. He asks just to be polite. I can tell by the way he glances at me as he waits for her response.
"Mollee."
He makes a mental note. "Mollee, I'll remember that."
Mollee widens her eyes and smiles at me when Niall isn't paying attention, as he pulls out his wallet and prepares to pay for the coffee he hasn't even ordered yet.
"A caramel macchiato with almond milk, please."
"Same as last time?" Mollee asks.
Niall tilts his head. "I'm honored that you remembered after one visit. The regulars must love you."
She turns around and grabs a cup for him. "Most of them. Let's see how long you stay on my good side."
Niall's eyes drift over to me in a worrying way, and I do nothing but grin at him as I notice how my best friend is letting her protective nature shine. It's enough to not scare anyone away, but to still let them know she will not hesitate to jump in if she sees something unusual happening. I'm grateful for that.
While Mollee's back is to us, Niall leans his side onto the counter and folds his hands together in front of his stomach, his eyes drifting all over me.
