I woke up in an unfamiliar, white room. I felt something on my neck and by the feel i figured it was a neck brace. The air was drenched in a mixture of medicine smells and somewhat like hand sanitizer. I yawned and looked around, getting a feel for the room. I realized I was in a hospital room, wearing nothing but my bra and panties and a hospital gown. My long blond hair was up in I guess a bun on my head(whoever put my hair up obviously didn't know how to) and a sheet covered everything from my chest and below.
I yawned again, stretching my legs under the sheet. When I did this, I couldn't help a yelp that escaped my moth when I moved my left leg. I lifted the sheets and saw a cast around calf from just below my knee to just before my toes. The cast was green; my favorite color. The door opened and a very tidy looking woman walked into the room in a white coat and clip board in hand.
"Hello Miss Decklin, I am Dr. Stacey. How are you feeling?" The doctor asked with a sincere smile on her face. There was something about her that made me feel at ease.
"I'm fine, and call me Bailey." I was surprised my voice came out very scratchy and hurt to talk.
"Okay, Bailey. I'm going to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are?"
"A hospital." Duh.
"Do you know what day it is?
"Well, if its still the same day that I set out for Palm Springs, it's Saturday. But if it's the day after, it's Sunday, the ninth of May."
"Good. Do you remember what happened to you?" These questions were really testing my patience.
"I was driving along the freeway and then a truck hit my car-that's all I remember." I mentally groaned. Damn here comes another question!
"Bailey, are you aware of your injuries?" I scoffed.
"Well obviously I have a broken ankle and something is wrong with my neck."
"Yes, you broke your ankle. You hit your head on the steering wheel when your car was hit and suffered minor bruising to your forehead, but your neck and shoulders were, in simplest terms, forced between the steering wheel and the seat when your seat flew forwards. You also sprained your left wrist during the accident when your car was hit. You were hit on the driver side." She spoke slowly to allow me time to let this sink in.
"So...where am I...like what state?"
"You're in Palm Springs, California. So you did make it here. It was just on the highway that you crashed, just outside of Palm Springs. When police got your mother on the phone, she said you would probably prefer to be In a hospital here in Palm Springs."
Okay, so I did make it.
"Okay, I think that is all. Thank you, Doctor Stacey."
"You are very welcome, oh, and your lunch comes in about half an hour. And you have visitors. Would you like me to come in?" Visitors? Huh.
"Sure, that's fine. Thank you!" I thanked her as she left the room with nothing but a nod. A few moments later the door opened and walked in a tall man with black hair that swooped over his hazel eyes, a build a girl could drool over, and the stance of a king. One thing filled my mind when he stopped dead in the doorway, staring at me.
"Mate."
We must have been thinking the same thing, because all I was mouthing was "oh my god" over and over again, just like him. There was something strangely familiar about this well-man. It sounds so strange to say in my head.
He walked over to me cautiously and sat down in the chair next to the bed. I was sitting up, so I only had to turn my head to see him...where do I know him? That face....face...ACE!
"Oh my Bay. My sweet Bay," Chase whispered, taking my right hand and kissing it gently. "I've missed you so much."
"C-chase...we're-"g
"Mates," he finished for me. Oh no. It's isn't good. I'll have to leave my mum! I have to leave Maine for real now!
"Bailey, calm down. Everything will be fine," he assured. I just stared at him, not knowing whether I wanted to push him away or kiss the hell out of him. He seemed to choose. In an instant his lips were on mine and his tongue was begging to enter. I wouldn't let him. So he bit my lips, making me gasp, and he slipped it in. He explored every inch of my mouth and I did his. The pleasurable sparks running through my body would've made me weak in the knees if I were standing. Oh dear...what have I gotten myself into?
My wolf was howling in pleasure, and I can admit I let out a few moans myself. Chase had full control over the kiss. I had to pull away to breathe. We were both very excited and very breathless. My body instantly felt the cold of the room without Chase so close to me.
"Lay with me," I requested.
"I-I can't."
"Well why not!" I'm his mate, in a hospital, just in a car crash! And he can fucking spend the day with me!?
"Today's the day I get the Alpha position passed from my father to me," he explained. He looked at me with a bit of sadness in his eyes.
"I hate your father."
"What happened between yours and mine was an accident a-" I cut him off.
"He watched my father die! He told my mother her mate was weak! How dare you disrespect him! He was loyal to your father Chase! And Gavin watched my father die for him!" I was fuming mad, tears streaming down my face. Chase's once hazel eyes were now black. Oh shoot.
"You don't know what you're talking about. My father is a proud man. He wouldn't s-"
"LEAVE!" I screamed, pointing to the door. Omfg is he serious right now!? He can't apologize!? At least he still has a father!
"Bailey-"
"You grew up with your father! He taught you everything! At least you had a father, maybe he wasn't much of one, but still you had one! That doesn't give you the right to walk all over mine! Get out!" And he did. He left. And I cried, sobbing into the sheet and pulling my knees up to my chest to keep me warm. I probably cried all night. I wouldn't let anyone come in.
Chase never came to the hospital until the morning I left it. I wasn't mad anymore. Chase had always known I can flip from being the happiest person in the world to fuming mad.
"I'm sorry Bay, forgive me?" That's all I needed to hear. I stood on my right foot-the good one-and hugged him. He kissed my cheek and then helped me into his truck.
"Where are we going?" I asked once he got in.
"The pack house. I told my father I wanted to have the Alpha position once you were better so we could introduce you as the Luna."
"AW! Wait I want to have my mom there okay?" He laughed.
"You act like you're getting married or something!"
"Hey this is important to me," I pouted. "And for the record when we do get married I want a fancy church and waiters oh yeah the whole nine yards!" I was narrating with hand motions and laughing my ass off so bad my ribs hurt and tears were running down my face. Chase was laughing too.
"Hey watch the road idiot!" I yelled to the person In front of us. She's texting. Dumb one.
"Chill out Bailey, it's fine," Chase soothed, putting his hand on my thigh over my yoga's. I huffed a small 'whatever' and was silent the whole rest of the way home.
