"This is the best part," you said, chewing the dumplings he made for you. Sitting on the counter, folding your legs, feeling the utmost comfort, your hand was holding the plate while the other was stuffing your mouth with the ever-mouthwatering dumplings. He chuckled showing his beautiful crooked teeth, cleaning the glass top stove, and could still see your face even though he was back facing, with the sounds you were making while eating, pleased with the food.
"You must be grateful that I'm still being nice to you because of these." you said with the full mouth, pointing to him with the chopsticks, while he turned back and stared at you with his big eyes, and his parted lips questioned his sanity "eh?". You sheepishly smiled, chewing on the food, his eyes focused off you and went behind, only to see your mom who was walking past the kitchen, suddenly stood there, seeing you on the countertop.
He turned his body fully and bowed at her immediately, while your eyebrows furrowed with the sudden change of his behaviour. Must be your mom or dad. You thought.
With making no chaos, she went past the kitchen, making you conclude that it was your mom. "Did she go?" asked, not even trying to turn back at her. You didn't want any fight as well. Jimin stared at you, eyes still big as a doe. You cared nothing but the food. He sighed before turning back, resuming the cleaning work.
"You should talk with her nicely, not everyone is blessed with a family and money like you. At least you got her back," he said, you stopped munching, staring at his back. "Are you saying this even though you knew she was my mom's sister and not my mom? I don't even remember my parent's faces. And yeah I have all this money, but I can't afford to bring my parents back to me, and I still can't believe you are saying this knowing everything about me." you uttered, keeping the plate on the counter.
"YN. It's not what I wanted to mean-" he turned back, only to see you rushing out of his sight. He gasped, regretting what he just said. He stared at the half-eaten plate, then at the direction where you went. Leaving everything, he took the plate in his hand and walked towards your room.
Stopping on your doorstep, he knocked on the door twice, earning no response. He sighed heavily, knocking again. "I'm coming inside," he said, opening the doorknob, and peeking inside as quickly as he can. His eyes instantly landed on you, who was standing in front of the window frame, looking at the sky. "Don't show your anger on the food," he said, locking the door, keeping it on the stand. You stood just there, back facing him, not answering him at all.
"YN, what I said was wrong, I didn't mean that. Please eat now," he said, crossing the bed, and walking towards you. You were still holding onto the window frame, not turning back. He stood just right behind you, a few inches of distance between both of you.
He lightly touched your shoulder, wanting to gain your attention, but you were so stubborn."Look, listen to me-" he said, coming to your face, staring at your eyes. His breath hitched and he felt like his heart was breaking into pieces when he saw your teary eyes that were silently sobbing. Jimin had no idea until he saw your crystal tears, pouring down your red chubby cheeks. "YN" he whispered, how badly he was sorry just by witnessing those tears. Your eyes didn't leave the pastel sky that was looking absolutely breathtaking, but the more you look, the more you sobbed.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry," Jimin said, he was going completely speechless, regretting every word he said to you. He had no idea how much it had impacted you until now. And just then you decided to speak, not knowing if you could hold back everything to yourself. Your voice was so low, your throat didn't help you at all.
"I still remember what happened that night. All I could remember was holding a plushie in my hands when I was sitting on someone's lap in our car. It must be my mom, she was holding me as if I was a precious jewel. I could still remember how my dad sounded then. He was so excited about someplace they were planning to visit. Yeah, we were going for a trip. But then a huge ray of beam light flashed right on my face. I still remember how they screamed when some vehicle hit right on our car. All my mom did was hold me so tight, even though it was the last minute of her life. I thought we were dead. I thought everything around us stopped. But as soon as we got hit, I saw a few people coming toward us. I thought they would help us, but they snatched all the jewels from my mom and dad, and they stabbed them to death even though they were dying. How cruel they could be? I somehow managed to escape from the place but they didn't stop chasing me. I ran inside some dense forest, I started losing hope that I would live even though I was badly hurt. They were behind me but I saw someone opposite me. He was terrified, looking at my state. I wanted his help and I tried to shout at him. But before that, someone grabbed my leg and I fell to the ground. I don't know how many days I was in the hospital, I was partially conscious, I heard their words that I wouldn't make it if they don't pay more. But thanks to the money we had, they saved me. The parents with whom I am sharing my roof now saved me with the money. And you know who did I see when I opened my eyes? It was haraboji. I saw him. He was the one that saved me from those men. He was also badly injured despite his age. He fought for me. And since then, he was my family. He was there for me every single day. He took me out of the shock I was put in. He was all I had. He gradually made me live, he made me believe that I should live, not for anyone but for me. He was a godfather to me. But he's gone as well. He left me just like my parents. He left me, Jimin. He left me all alone."
You cried, holding onto the window frame tightly. Your legs were trembling, and Jimin didn't realise the drops that were staining his cheeks. "YN, I'm really sorry," he uttered, encircling your shoulders, embracing you into his tight hug. Your arms hugged him back soon, letting your tears fall on his shoulders. He rested his cheek on your shoulder, hand on your head. He realized how much it had hurt you.
"I'm sorry, YN. I really didn't know. I was being a jerk to you. Forgive me for what I said." he said, you just shook your head as a no. "Jimin. I just don't know, why people that I love leave me soon," you said, he soon broke the hug at your words, staring at you. His hands cupped your cheeks and his eyes were bawling with tears. "I won't leave you, I will never do that to you," he said, you stared at him as if he was really saying that.
"YN, I will not leave you alone. And I'm sorry," he said, you sniffed, staring at him with your big eyes. "Then hold me tight," you said, hugging him again, and placing your head on his chest. His arms embraced you, his plump lips pecked your head softly. "Hold me tight," you muttered again, commanding, and he tightened his hug more, making not even air could pass through both of you.
You sniffed against his chest, while his fingers ruffled your raven hair delicately. He rested his cheek on your head, and your eyes panned to the same pastel sky, making you in awe. Now you saw how the sky looked even more beautiful when he was hugging you. The colour of the sky resembled his chubby cheeks that would blush every time he stared at you. You smiled in tears feeling his another peck on your head.
