the moment the door of mark and donghyuck's home rang, they both already knew who would be revealed as soon as they opened it and why they were here, specifically.
due to that, donghyuck sarcastically brought his hands on his hips like a pregnant mother, "oh wow! you two came here because you wanted advice on how to confess to renjun? absolutely never would've expected that, especially because you never visit us, anyway!"
mark, who was sitting on their grey couch that had a little too many cushions, sighed a little, typing away on his keyboard on his laptop (being an author wasn't an easy job, after all), "ah, babe. don't be like this, help these two out. it seems like they're genuinely desperate for help."
"that is," his boyfriend started, "because these two never get bitches. ever. thus, they have zero, absolutely zero experience with dating, love, going on or planning dates or whatever the fuck is related to all of that."
jaemin immediately felt the need to defend himself and jeno, "this isn't even gonna be a date, we just wanna know if renjun feels the same way, even if the likeliness of that is low as he-"
"yeah, yeah, got it. sit down, first," hyuck gestured to the couch and mark instantly moved a little more to the side as he heard those words, to make more space for the other two to sit down on it as well, "i'll get you guys something to drink. is cola alright?"
as donghyuck looked between the faces of the best friends, waiting for a nod or anything of the sort, the black-haired got thrown into a flashback to the sleepover, where he had also drank cola.
he still remembered the way renjun and jaemin had practically pressed their own bodies to his, resulting in an extreme amount of heat between all of them. jeno was sure he could get used to that, but he wasn't exactly sure if the other two would be up for stuff like this again. with jaemin though, he was kinda sure, that he would be okay with spending more nights like these together.
in the past few months, it had all happened automatically. even before they got to know renjun and started watching his livestreams and fell for him, the two were already close. inseperable, even. they saw each other in their worst and best moments in life. they were childhood friends, after all.
but ever since they both seemed to feel the same thing for renjun, they seemed to get even closer, bonding over how absolutely similiar their feelings were for the chinese boy. not only that, their feelings for each other had also grown. so much, that it was an unspoken fact that they weren't only simple bestfriends anymore, but due to the sake of wanting to include renjun first, they didn't declare whatever they had as a romantic relationship. what would happen if renjun was gonna say he didn't feel the same for the two? well, the two weren't sure.
"earth to jeno, hey," jaemin was shaking his entire body, his hands gently put on jeno's shoulders. fuck, jeno didn't even notice he spaced out. he should really work on this in the near future.
"sorry, i'm- i just thought about something," he fumbled with his own hands a little. they were rough. maybe that expensive hand lotion he bought with jaemin at that luxurious store in town a few days ago wasn't doing quite the job it was supposed to do. they really spent money on this shit, huh?
jaemin eyed him curiously, "you're worried about us confessing to renjun, right?"
there it was again. jaemin knew him. so well, that it scared him sometimes. if the brunette was just gonna come up to him one day and tell him they shared the exact same brain, he wouldn't even be suprised anymore.
"yeah, what if- i don't know.. what if he just doesn't feel the same for us, you know?"
"i highly doubt that," donghyuck strolled back into the living room, having obviously heard their conversation. he placed down the glasses with cola in front of the two, earning a quiet "thanks" from both boys. "well, maybe as an outsider my opinion doesn't really matter, but even i can see how whipped he is for you two. god, you'd have to see it out of the perspective of somebody else. it's almost disgusting."
jaemin chuckled at what his friend just said, "if you say so.. but maybe we can increase our chances with him, if we confess to him in a specific way or in a specific place. do you have any ideas, hyuck?"
"hmm," he thought for a second, "i won't tell you guys what to do. this is something you're supposed to do together, without the help of any outsiders, me included. but i can tell you, that renjun likes quiet places, that don't have too many people around. he isn't a big fan of massive crowds. you should also give him time, no matter if he feels the same for you two or not. i can already tell you, if you even dare to put pressure on him, then it wouldn't even matter that he might have feelings for you both, because then he's just gonna distance himself from you two instead."
at the last sentence, donghyuck looked at jaemin and jeno with a sharp glance. he trusted them both, he really did, but if they were to put pressure on renjun, or even worse, ended up hurting him in any way, then donghyuck would be ready to throw hands. his best friend's feelings weren't a joking matter to him and he hoped his words made that clear enough.
"however, i do believe that you guys won't do that, right?," both of them nodded quickly and donghyuck's expression immediately lightened. "alright, then we're not gonna have any problems with each other. by the way, renjun is free on saturday, so you might consider using this day to confess to him."
jaemin and jeno both noted that day in their phone calendars, making sure to absolutely not forget it. they also made the agreement that they were going to think about where to take renjun together. perhaps they would seem arrogant, if they'd admit it outloud, but now they were pretty confident about confessing to renjun.
as donghyuck and, in addition mark, whose eyes were still glued to his laptop, typing furiously, brought them to the door to say goodbye to them, the other two turned around to see donghyuck, giving them a thumbs up.
"you guys are absolutely insufferable sometimes, but i believe in you two. you too, mark, right?
the man looked around in confusion, "huh? what? uh? yes? of course? yeah, definitely."
