just as donghyuck had suggested to them a few days back, jaemin and jeno decided to confess to him on saturday. the older one of the two even asked renjun if he would be free, just to make sure. nothing would be allowed to fail now. especially not because of something stupid, such as hyuck accidentally telling them misinformation.

well, today was the big day and to say the least, saying that they were excited was simply a understatement. it was the complete opposite. ever since they woke up a few minutes ago, they barely spoke to each other, only giving each other small good morning kisses, right before they stepped out of bed.

so when they sat at the table in the kitchen, both munching at their toasts, jaemin used this an opportunity to finally say something, "is it just me, or is your heart almost jumping out of your chest too? and we're not even telling, no, facing him yet.. god, jen, if i end up fainting later, will you please call an ambulance for me? i'm okay with confessing to him in the hospital too, if that's what fate wants to happen."

jeno choked a bit on the piece of toast he had in his mouth, but quickly recovered and chuckled, displaying his eye smile, "i will definitely call an ambulance for you, if that happens, nana. i can't just let you die."

at that, jaemin breathed out in relief. hopefully it would't even get to that point, though it was likely considering how nervous he got from time to time when it came to things like love. he still remembers the first time jeno had told him, that he loved him. it was a quick, short statement while saying good night and jeno disappeared into his own bedroom right away after that, but it left the younger a flushing mess in the kitchen, choking on his cereal. jaemin had hoped, that jeno had felt the same, otherwise he would've made a complete idiot out of himself (not that it was his own fault, for developing feelings for his best friend, out of all the people on earth.)

the thing is, everybody saw jaemin as a confident gay and while there was definitely a bit of that in him, there was just something about his best friend that made all his thoughts come to an abrupt halt within a small amount of seconds. maybe it was jeno's intense gaze that so carefully lingered on his face, whenever he spoke or the way the older sometimes purely concentrated on him, not paying any attention to his surroundings. this reminded him of the time, where they were outside, going for a walk and jeno was so focused on him, that he almost ran straight into a lamppost. jaemin supressed a laughter at that memory. he had pulled him to the side fast enough, though, so things ended well. luckily.

--------------

jaemin, together with jeno of course, was currently sitting on renjun's bed, 'i feel alive' by COIN quietly playing in the background, watching the oldest get ready for the evening they were gonna spend together. they both had come a little bit too early, but renjun didn't particularly mind it and quickly assured them, that they were allowed to wait in his bedroom, until he was also ready.

the first few seconds when they stepped into his apartment, there was pure silence, no one even dared to breathe. the chinese had started putting on eyeliner a few seconds before the other two aggressively (it was mostly jaemin) rang his door, leading to him opening the door, despite not having finished his eyeliner on his eyes yet. with the eyeliner still in hand and visibly looking at jeno's arms, which were fully exposed, now that he wore a simple, black sleeveless shirt and also visibly looking at jaemin's thighs through his ripped jeans, he almost accidentally painted the door black. to say the other two were looking good today was an understatement, according to renjun. not that he would openly admit that.

jeno tried to keep his eyes away from renjun, but he couldn't look away from the bit of chest he exposed while wearing a white blouse, to display a necklace in the shape of a key. his glances didn't go unnoticed, as renjun shot him a small smile.
