"Can't you just quit? You have enough money to last you this lifetime."
"And fuel my guilt? No thank you."

Mi-sun clicked her tongue before pulling the pillow to her lap and getting comfortable. Ara has been walking around the room looking for her charger from the last hour. Her bags were packed already with a checked list lying on top of it. Her letter of area transfer within the city was lying nearby too. True to Jimin's words, she recieved the order soon after that day.

"What guilt? Why would you feel guilty in being rich? It's honest money that your parents have left you. You are supposed to use it anyway."

"It's not just that. You know I don't like having nothing to do. It's fun being lazy for some days but it would get boring soon."

"Woah, that's so cool. You looked so cool saying that."

Jeong Mi-sun was her neighbour-turned-friend. She was a kind, happy and a little too energetic woman who had blatant disregard for Ara's personal space. When she heard of Ara's leaving, she wasted no time in knocking at her door with two tubs of ice cream and gossip as a farewell.

"What are you even looking for?"
"My charger. Have you seen it?"
"Wait let me check if I'm sitting on it... And nope."

Ara let out a mighty sigh and sat at the edge of the bed, "I guess I'll just have to buy one on my way."

Before Mi-sun could say anything, the doorbell screeched. It was rare for someone to visit Ara so she hesitantly peeked from a small gap. To her surprise, standing there was her colleague, Kim Namjoon. She never really interacted with him at work but she did not have anything against him either. Their acquaintance had no foundation so it was very unexpected to see him standing outside her door with a smile.

"Hello, are you almost ready to leave?"

Ara opened the door a little wider, still with scepticism while replying, "Yes, I'm done actually."

"That's great," he clapped his hands before motioning towards the exit of the building, "should we get going then?"

"I'm sorry," Ara looked back at Mi-sun who had appeared from her bedroom, "I don't really understand."

Namjoon looked equally confused for a second, his eyes switching to the lost Mi-sun in the back before his face broke into a sheepish smile again.
"Ah right! I thought you already knew. I'm supposed to take you to the office for picking up a few items that you would need there."

Ara still did not look convinced. Years of unkindness had moulded her into a being full of suspicions.
"I could go there myself? Why did they send you?"

At this point, Namjoon's smile had dropped. With a voice that was heavy with restrained annoyance he answered, "Chief thought that it would be an appreciable act of kindness before you part to a difficult investigation. Now I'm not sure if it as appreciated as they imagined. You can go on your own."

He turned away to leave and in that split second, maybe through the overwhelm of being finally acknowledged in a light other than hatred that she had always wanted, Ara called out to him.
"I'm almost done. I just need to change my clothes. Why don't you wait inside?"

 Why don't you wait inside?"
