The footsteps stopped just before the door. The thin blade of the knife weighed heavy on my hand and my muffled breathing was unbearably loud. I wondered if the thud of my heart was audible from outside the door, it sure felt like that.
It was silent; the clock above the door ticked and with each tick, the palpitation of my heart threatened to overflow the dam of my eyes. It was a silent battle - awaiting a storm with the electricity out. I could feel my hands clench tighter and tighter around the knife to the point when I wasn't sure if it was by my own will or by a phantom force.
The silence was unnerving. I slowly moved out from under the bed and straightened my sore back. The pit of my stomach felt like a whirlwind. Just when I was about to move towards the door, a cool breeze drifted by my exposed neck, goosebumps immediately lining the skin. It was faint but I could feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
"Found you," a voice whispered in my ear.

"Did I not warn you about this place, beauty?" Sure enough, it was that man with a face that looked like it was sculpted with divine delicacy.
"She has always been the rebel though," the traitor colleague smiled at me, "What do you say JK?"
"I think," the man in question finally stepped out from the brooding corner with a soft smile that looked out of place and in juxtaposition with the bloodlust laden maniacal eyes, "some discipline is in order."
