It was a normal morning at the xiaolin temple. Well, it was as normal as the xiaolin temple could get. Just as everyone was done with breakfast, Master Fun gathered all four of the young monks and Dojo. They all sat down as Master Fun was at last ready to announce what he had to say to them.
Master Fung: Well, my young monks. I have good news for you all.
Omi was the only one really paying any attention to what Master Fung was saying at the time.
Omi: What is this good news, Master Fung?
Master Fung: A new student will be joining the temple and you will have a new dragon on your team.
With the news fresh in their minds, everyone looked up at Master Fung, if a bit puzzled. At least, Kimiko always made the effort to look up from her PDA game.
Omi: Do you mean that a new monk will be coming to the temple soon?
Master Fung: Absolutely, Young Omi.
With what Master Fung had said about the new monk coming to the temple, everyone else joined in on asking their joint master questions about this newcomer to their team.
Kimiko Tohomiko: Is it a girl or a boy?
Clay Bailey: What time are they comin', Master Fung?
Raimundo Pedrosa: Who is it?
Dojo also joined in on the conversation with the master, but it was mostly to complain about having to fly yet another kid on his back.
Dojo Kanojo Cho: Having four kids on my back is such tiring work, but now having to escort five kids to the Shen Gong Wu destinations? What am I? A temple guardian or a beast of burden?
Master Fung decided to answer the young monks' questions in the order of which they were asked, with the exception of Dojo's complaint.
Master Fung: It is a young boy around the age of sixteen, he shall arrive in two hours, and his name is Deacon Weston from Santa Fe, New Mexico in the United States of America.
It was then that Master Fung sighed.
Kimiko was unhappy.
Kimiko Tohomiko: Great! Another boy, another guy to torture the life out of me.
Omi was positively ecstatic about having another boy at the temple, so much so he whooped for joy.
Omi: We must make sure to make him feel welcome at our temple.
Clay just patted Omi on the back for his idea, and they all walked away.
Master Fung: Just remember, young monks, that you all have to be kind to him or else his wealthy father will order our temple to be closed forever.
Master Fung looked pretty sad on what he had just said. He went with Dojo back into the temple.
Meanwhile, Raimundo took this opportunity to tease Kimiko for a bit, so that was just what he did. The Brazilian teen even smirked at the Japanese girl as he did it.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Hey, Kim, maybe this new guy, Deacon, will wanna be nice to you.
Kimiko Tohomiko: Hahahaha... you're hilarious, Rai. Can you just leave me alone so I can prepare for this new guy's arrival?
While she had said that she wanted to prepare for this Deacon Weston's arrival, Kimiko merely went out to the garden and just sat underneath the cherry tree. The dragon of fire probably needed to go under the cherry tree for a slight break from the other dragons-in-training. It was too bad for her that the dragon of the wind had decided to shadow her all the way out to the garden.
Kimiko Tohomiko: I wonder what this Deacon guy's gonna be like.
Kimiko said it more to herself because she believed she was finally alone, but she had quickly been proven wrong on that note when Raimundo revealed himself to have shadowed her on her walk out to the garden and under the cherry tree. The Brazilian dragon of the win sprung out from atop a tree branch and surprised his girl teammate as he spoke to her.
Raimundo Pedrosa: I guess that we'll just have to see what the new guy's like, won't we?
Kimiko just leaned down on her side as she did not have the energy to deal with Raimundo's wanton mischief at the time.
