Chapter 4: The Punishment

A/N: I'm sorry if I won't be posting a lot, it's because I'm having a hard time with making an idea for the chapters lately and one of my friends help me with ideas so tones of credit to him! But other from that enjoy the chapter!

~{Specter's POV}~
I was sitting in my room waiting for T-bone to scold me even more or to give me overtime. When I started my shift he didn't order or ask me to do anything; it was suspicious so I tried to keep my mind off it. When I had gotten off my shift to look for my phone I didn't see it anywhere. When I went to go ask the Blaze brothers about it they were no help, so I had no other choice but to ask T-bone. When I had got to his room he seemed annoyed and angered at the same time. "What do you need." He asked sounding highly irritated. "I was wondering if you knew where my phone was." I said trying to hide my nervousness. "I have it. You're not getting it until you prove that you deserve it." He said pointing to my phone on his desk. I was livid at the fact he took my phone. I flew out of a window to go see Cagney.

~{At Cagney's garden}~

When I had gotten there I seen Hilda helping Cagney with gardening. I sat on a stump waiting for them to finish. While I was sitting there I kicked some rocks around. When I was about to kicks another rock I seen Cagney and Hilda stand in front of me. "You good? Your head tail thing looks like fire." She said pointing out the small fire look on my head. "T-bone took my phone since I snuck out. I bet he went through it too." I said felling like I was going to punch something. "That's overboard." Cagney said starting to sound irritated. "I understand why I'm in the wrong since I snuck out; however taking my phone is too much for a punishment." I groaned while tossing some rocks in front of me. "He doesn't need to play parent role in this." Hilda said while crossing her arms "Exactly! He thinks he can just tell me what to do and expects me to be there whenever he needs the simplest of tasks done." I said agreeing with her. "Honestly I feel like he went through your phone." Cagney said sitting down next the stump I was on. "He probably did, since when I asked him where it was he sounded irritated and a bit angry too." I said. "Specter!" I heard a familiar voice yell; It was Cala. "Yes?" I yelled back. "T-bone told me to come and get you!" She yelled. I groaned and started heading back.

~{Cagney's POV}~

I watched as he started to leave. "T-bone is problematic." Hilda said while watching the ghost leave. "I agree." I said starting to get up. I head over to the tree I usually sit at so I could take a nap. When I was about to drift to sleep I heard the boys running and yelling my name. "CAGNEY! CAGNEY!" They both yelling while slowing down not trying to mess up my flower beds. "What is it you two?" I asked in the middle of a yawn. "We finished your wagon!" Cuphead said. "Well it just needs to dry first." Mugman then said to finish his brother's sentence. "Cool. Once it finishes drying just bring it over. Okay?" I said looking at both of the. "Okay!" They said while running back out the garden still avoiding the flower beds. I sighed as I went to lay back down. Once I felt the grass of my body I had fell sleep.

~{Specter's POV}~

When I got back to the train T-bone was standing there glaring at me. I kind of felt scared since he never flared at me like that before. When I was floating in front of him he let out a long sigh. "Listen, you're lucky that I don't give you overtime. Since what you did was worthy of it; However on your day's off you'll be doing chores until you get your act together; Also don't go out to friends until the corse are done." He scolded me. I felt livid. "At least I have friends." I murmured. I could tell he heard me since he snapped his head back towards me. "What was that?" He asked looking irritated. "At least I have friends." I repeated. I heard the Blaze brothers snickering in the background but quickly stopped after T-bone stared at them. "Listen here, you're lucky that I'm keeping my patients with you." He said getting a bit closer. "Well I have non left for you." I said crossing my arms. "Excuse me?!" He yelled. "You're excused." I said in a sarcastic tone. "Watch your tone with me." He said. "Well you better watch yours." I said starring him straight into his empty eye sockets. "Just go to your damn friends! I'm not going to deal with your damn attitude!" He said as I started to fly away. "At least I have friends to go to!" I yelled back while I exited through a window. I head towards Cagney's garden once more.

~{At Cagney's garden}~

When I had gotten there he was asleep, when I was about to turn around and go to the carnival I heard him yawn. "Stay." He said in the middle of his yawn. I turned to see him still laying down but looking at me. I felt my face heat up a bit. "Come here." He said patting a spot next to him. I flew over and sat down next to him. He stretched at he sat up, he faced me waiting for me to talk. I couldn't help but stare at him, at his facial features, and especially his eyes. I felt my face heat up more than before. "Are you okay?" He asked staring at my face. I snapped out of my trance. "Oh! Yeah I'm fine sorry." I said rubbing the back of my head.

~{Cagney's POV}~

"It's okay." I said. "What did you and T-bone talk about?" I ask while stretching. "He scolded my about my punishment saying that I need to do chores on my off days, I can't go see friends until I finish my chores, etc. So I started to talk back since I was annoyed with him, and he yelled at me telling me to go to my damn friends so I said at least I have friends to go to." He said summing up what happened. I couldn't help but laugh a bit. "What?" He asked. "Does he actually have no friends? Not even one?" I asked with a small smile. "Yeah, he's to worried about his work to even talk to others outside work." He said. If was bizarre how miserable his life might be. I though to myself. I found myself staring at Specter. He looked honestly cute. I felt my face heat up. "Cagney? Are you okay?" He asked coming a bit closer. "Oh yeah, I'm fine." I said as I snapped back to reality. A small smile formed onto his face. "I was wondering if I can stay the night. Since I don't know if T-bone calmed down or not." He asked while looking at the ground "Sure. You don't need to ask, just let me know." I said while laying down to look at the constellations. He smiles and turned onto his back to look at them too. Hilda was making some weird constellation, it didn't look like a zodiac or something. I soon realized that she made a heart and inside it saying "C + S". It was odd, very odd. "What's that constellation?" Specter asked while pointing at the heart. "I don't know. We're going to need to ask Hilda when she finished." I said also very confused. Once she finished she had came back down while transforming from a blimp back into her original form. "Liked what I did there?" She asked with a family smirk on her face. "Why is she doing this." I thought to myself.
