Plot:

Clary's only chance to help her mother is track down the Rogue-- Valentine( spoiler alert from the first book is her father).
To complicate things, someone in New York is murdering downworlder children.
Is Valentine behind the killings? And if he is what is he trying to achieve?
How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help Valentine?

City of Ashes was overall an excellent read it really captures you makes you feel apart of shadow hunters world. Cassandra Clare is great at world building and very part of this book seemed extremely thought out.
Every chapter had you on the edge of her seat, and turning the pages.
I couldn't put this book down, I was reading 24/7.
I love loved this book definitely a fave :D although, it kinda lacked compared to rest of the series but City of Glass definitely makes up for it.
