Brooke's POV
Three hours and four bathroom breaks later, Katy and I finally made it to her house. She hadn't anticipated so much traffic or for me to have such a small bladder.

"Ah. Home sweet home," she said as she looked at the huge house in front of us.

"This is home? I'm going to get lost," I gasped, shocked that one person could need such a big house.

Katy chuckled and got out of the car. She walked up to the door and fumbled with a few keys before finally unlocking the door. The first thing I noticed when I entered was not the size of the house, but the picture in front of me. It was Katy and a man together. Katy looked beyond happy and it looked like a wedding picture. The only thing ruining the picture was the hole where the man's face would have been. I heard a faint sob behind me and I slowly spun around. Katy was frozen in the doorway with her trembling hand over her mouth. Then I remember. She's married. Well was married. She got divorced. That break up was not a break up. It was so much bigger than that. I instantly felt my heart break for her. I slowly began walking towards Katy. Right before I got to her, she let out a little screech and threw her keys at the wall before falling to her knees. I hadn't known Katy for long, but it was obvious that I had to do something. I began walking faster and instantly fell to the floor next to Katy and wrapped my arms around her.

"I'm so sorry, Katy," I said. It was lame, but it was all I had to offer. I had known her for less than 48 hours, but I couldn't just leave her to cry herself to sleep on the floor.

The next fifteen minutes were filled with Katy's sobs. It was heartbreaking to say the least.

"I-I-I'm sorry," Katy finally said in a shaky voice. "This wasn't the welcome home I had planned and you probably hate me now if you didn't already."

I felt my heart break. Again.

"Katy, I never hated you. I was just confused," I said softly, wondering if I should ask what I was really wondering. I decided to risk it. "What happened? Between you and Russell."

Katy flinched at the sound of his name and I instantly regretted asking.

"Let's go to the couch. My butt hurts," Katy said as she stood up, pulling me with her.

We took a left and walked through a door before entering a room bigger than my entire house. I gasped and Katy chuckled again.

"Sit," Katy ordered like I was a dog. I obliged and sat down simply because I was tired. On a normal day, I would have told her I'm not a dog and stayed standing, but I decided it wasn't the time.

Katy walked across the room and through two double doors. Five minutes later, Katy came out with Oreos and milk. I watched as she placed them on a small table in the center of the room before coming to sit near me on a white couch.

"Sorry. I don't really have much else. I didn't have time to prepare for your arrival," she explained. "So you want to know about the relationship I had with that douchebag."

I nodded as I reached my milk and a cookie.

"Only if you're up to it," I quickly said when I realized that she just had a complete breakdown because of him and might not be in the mood to discuss the marriage.

"Do you want the real version or the version that we agreed to tell the world?" Katy asked.

Two stories? What?

"The real version, I guess," I hesitantly replied.

Katy took a deep breath and reached for her milk. She took a sip before turning to me and putting her hands in her lap.
