Ashton sobbed as he mother rubbed his head. He couldn't believe it.... they.... they.... he couldn't even finish the thought.

"Watch Kingsley for a second... I gotta...." He just walked off, running into the bathroom, turning on the shower as he sobbed more, falling back into the tub. He pulled at his hair wanting to pain to stop.... at any cost he'll make it stop. He dunked his head into the tub, seeing how long he could stay under. He yanked his head out and started laughing as he went under the sink. The bleach..... he grabbed the bottle pouring it into the tub and took a shakie breath. He dunked his head in feeling the chemical burn his eyes and throat. A small hand pulled his head up weakly and stared at him. Ashton paused as he saw Kingsley... hell the kid is 2 how would he know or understand....

"Ashy?" Kingsley asked softly, confused of the others actions. Ashton got up, draining the tub as he looked to the mirror... welp his hair was ruined.... it had 2 white streaks in it now... he sighed...

"Kid you.... you wouldn't understand... ya folks... they left us... forever." Ashton washed out his eyes.

"Where'd they go?" Kingsley sat ontop of the toilet lid.

"Your folks believed that Heaven crap... I don't... so I don't got an answer." Ashton sighed.

"I'm hungry."

"I'll make ya some food kid. Whatcha want?" Ashton asked as he picked up Kingsley.

"Pizza!" Ashton laughed a bit as he placed Kingsley on the counter, turning on the radio. "I'ma do that!" Kingsley giggled.

"What kid? Make pizza?" Ashton raised an eyebrow.

"No the-" Kingsley tried mocking a trumpet.

"Oh you wanna toot the horn. I get it. So ya wanna be a musician?" Ashton asked as he gathered his ingredients.

"Yeah!" Kingsley cheered. "What about you Ashy?" Kingsley looked at Ashton, waiting for his answer.

"Scientist... Gonna heal ma, and all like her." Ashton started on the dough.

As a year passed Ashton stood in the kitchen once more.

"Ok kid, what today?" Ashton smiled.

"Ooooooooooooh.... Jambalaya!!!" Kingsley smiled brightly.

"Ahhh a New Orleans specialty. I'll go bring ma her meds and run it by her. Come on." Ashton helped Kingsley down as he got his mothers meds ready. "Ma, you up?" Ashton opened her door slowly, seeing she was asleep still. "Ma." He shook her gently. "Ma. Wake up, it's noon." He shook her again, yet no response. His heart began pounding. "Ma?!" He started shaking her more violently. "Come on ma! Not now! Please! I- I still have to buy you that house in Hollywood!" Ashton picked Kingsley up, running outside. "We have to.... of please..." he began running, trying to find help.

By the time he found help, she was beyond saving... and he was allll alone....

He laid on the couch smoking a cigar, staring at the ceiling.... his mind blank, and soul broken. Kingsley slowly came over, climbing up and hugging him.

"She's with Mama and Papa now..." Kingsley whispered. "Don't worry I'll never leave..." Kingsley shot up. "I'll always stay with you! No matter what! I promise!" Kingsley declared. Ashton cracked a smile.

"I know ya won't leave me, it's  guaranteed I'll die first." Ashton ruffled Kingsley's hair. "Thanks kid. Ya better take care of me when I'm old and fat since I had to take care of ya bratty ass." Ashton teased.

"Already are." Kingsley started laughing.

"Oh I hope someday someone beats the hell outta ya kid, I'm 15, not old, maybe fat, but not old." Ashton huffed.

And since then the 2 were close as ever, yet 11 years into the future that ended... but that my friends is for another day...
