Since the day you were born, you've been unable to taste anything – not the sharp tang of a lemon or the sweetness of ice cream, not even the burning heat of Indian curry. Nothing had flavor to you which meant you could eat anything without issue. Growing up, the other kids thought you were lucky to b able to eat anything with no reaction, but to you, it was nothing more than a curse.

You're not sure why or when it happened, but some time ago, far far back in your family tree, someone royally fucked up and got the rest of the family cursed. Given the nature of the curse, you assumed your ancestor had insulted a witch's cooking or something. And despite your family's best efforts, they have yet to discover how to break said curse. You had already come to terms with the fact that you would just be another failed generation. You even considered never having kids so the curse would be forced to end alongside your bloodline. Not that you were the last of your family or anything but it was a nice thought nonetheless.

"Oi, Y/N."

You glanced over at the small bar on the left side of Daruma Ikka's casino where Futa stood, pouring drinks for customers who were already at their limit. You tossed the rag over your shoulder as you approached. "Yeah, boss?"

"I'm running low on Gin. Can you grab some from the back?"

"Sure, boss." You tapped the bar with your hand before heading into the back, down the hallway toward the storage room. To get there, you had to pass through the break room which doubled as the employee locker room.

You entered the code on the keypad and the lock clicked, allowing you access. Inside against the left wall was a row of lockers and to the right was a small kitchen and a bathroom. A table sat in the middle of the room, closer to the lockers. That's where Agyo sat, sounded by stacks of cash. He barely glanced up when you entered before returning to counting yesterday's earnings.

You headed straight to the back of the room, through the storage room door. This room was huge, filled with boxes that held various things needed to keep the casino running smoothly. You headed toward the alcohol section, checking the labels on the boxes until you found the one marked Gin. The problem is that it was on the very bottom of a tall stack, making it impossible to simply remove.

You sighed deeply as you grabbed the ladder, moving it over to the boxes in question. Now, you prided yourself on your strength, so carrying a heavy box of alcohol down a ladder didn't scare you. More than anything, you weren't looking forward to the tedious nature of taking each box down and then having to put them back. 'Whoever had the brilliant idea to stack alcohol this high deserves a punch to the face.'

You were halfway through the stack and on the middle of the ladder when the door creaked open. Curious, you glanced over your shoulder to see who had just entered the room only to find Agyo. When he realized what you were doing, he rushed over to help, taking the box from your hands with a scowl.

"Why didn't you ask for help, idiot?"

"Because I don't need it," you replied simply, reaching for the topmost box. "This is my job, not yours, boss." You tried to descend but he stopped you, grabbing the box from you once more.

"And it's my job to make sure the other employees don't kill themselves doing stupid shit." He grunted, setting the box with the others. "You're our hardest worker, Hyuga-san would kill me if you couldn't work anymore."
