Jennie's POV
"Kim Group of Industries is suffering a major downfall from the scandal involving their CEO. It is known to many that Mr. Lance Kim merged his business with his now wife Mrs. Jennie—"
I turned the television off as I felt a huge headache coming to me because of what I just heard on the news.
After everything this is how it will end? I closed my eyes and massage my temple. I lay my back on the couch here in my office thinking about everything that happened and what will happen.
"Good morning, Ma'am." There was a knock on the door that disrupted my thoughts.
"Come in." I said as I hurriedly stood up to fix myself. No one can see me like this. I am not allowed to show weakness especially right now that a major problem is emerging in the company. I walked to my office table to fix my things. I saw April entering my office with worry on her face.
"I'm sorry to disturb your lunch Ma'am, but your husband called for an urgent meeting right now." She said before placing some files on my desk. There's that headache already.
"About what?" I asked. "If this is about the Honxo incident, I don't think I need to be there. Let Lance fix his own problem."
"But Ma'am your father specifically asked for you. The meeting will start in ten. They're already in the boardroom." She said making me heave a sigh.
"My father is going to be there?" I asked, my head getting heavier at the moment. April nodded hesitantly, as if she already knew how my mood will turn worst after her answer. I guess I don't have a choice but to go now.
"Okay April. I'll meet you at the boardroom." I said before turning my back and facing the view of Metro Manila.
With all of these chaos around me, it makes me miss the time when things were less complicated.
Makes me miss everything.

"I'm sorry I'm late." I apologized as soon as I entered. Lance stopped talking and gave me a look. A scrutinizing one and I know it's because I interrupted his speech or rather his defense on why he handled the honxo incident the way he did and why our company is in the verge of losing millions of dollars.
"Dad." I greeted my father with a peck on his cheek. He just nod and signaled for Lance to continue.
"As I was saying, this incident isn't my fault. The board shouldn't make the decision just based on what the news were saying." He spat at one of our board members Mr. Daniels, who I know, wanted to overthrow Lance since the day my Dad named him his new CEO.
"Then who's fault is this, Mr. Kim? Because I certainly am not the one who sign that contract with Honxo." Mr. Daniels asked in a sarcastic tone making Lance look at him with his eyebrows furrow.
"I did what I think is best, Mr. Daniels, and I know if you were in my shoes you would do the same. But of course you can never be on my shoes because you.." He lean on the table looking directly at the middle aged man who hated him with his every gut.
"You will never be the CEO of this company." Lance finished his sentence making Mr. Daniels lose all his confidence as everyone around started murmuring.
"This isn't my fault that the media is turning my statement against me. This is all just a part of the plan to sabotage me and this company." He added making everyone in the room look at each other with agreement to his statement. I have to hand it to him he certainly can manipulate everyone. He is good with words. Something I learned after years of being married to him.
I just sat there and listen. We all know it's his fault but no one spoke the truth. Because there's no winning against him. No one will win against him when my father have his back no matter what.
"It doesn't matter who's fault is this anymore. None of that matters. All of you just need to fix this or else this company will go to waste. I don't want that to happen." My father stood up making everyone stop what they are doing. He then looked at me.
"I need you to meet with a personal friend of mine who happens to be a lawyer. I believe he is sending his daughter to meet you." He said making my eyebrows furrow.
Me?
"Shouldn't Lance needs to be the one meeting with the lawyers? Besides, we have our company lawyers for this Dad." I complained as I don't want to fix a mess I didn't start.
"He should be, but we can't afford another scandal. Seeing him in public meeting with a lawyer wouldn't look good for us. You will be in charge of the company for now while your husband recover from this problem." He stated and I was about to speak that I am against this idea when he cut me off.
"You need to help your husband to keep this Dynasty your mother and I built, Jennie." He said
He stood beside me and looked at me in the eyes. "For you and your future children. " And there I lost again.
