A/N BAHAHAHAHA THIS CHAPTER NAME... WHAT WAS I THINKING...

Lumine PoV:

The day had gone by smoothly. In algebra, only Nahida and two other students got moved up to geometry, in biology, Tighnari had come back in to explain more about aranara, in combat, the twins both won their fights, and P.E. had made them run three miles.

"I'm famished!" Lumine said, ordering jewelry soup again at lunch.

Lunch had gotten ten minutes in before Childe swung by their table again.

"Oh, Lumi, do you want to come by my table today? You promised," he said with a grin.

Aether practically had steam coming out of his ears. Childe jumped when Xiao turned his amber eyes at him darkly.

"Ohh... it's the shorty." He patted Xiao's head, and in response, Xiao took his wrist and twisted it backwards until Childe got out of his grip. "Oww, you didn't have to do that," he whined.

Lumine shrugged, keeping a smug face. "Sure. I never break my promises." She crossed her fingers behind her back.

She grabbed her tray, waving bye to her astonished friends before joining Childe all the way across the cafeteria. There were ten students already there and eating their meals, though most kept their faces turned away from Lumine.

She felt jittery with nervousness as she sat next to Childe and another boy with roughly cropped navy-blue hair. He was probably the boldest of them other than Childe, for he just stared at her with an angsty look in his eyes.

From across her, there was another boy with ice-blue hair who surprisingly had a mask over the top half of his face. It had a general ice-blue and dark theme to it, and the nose-piece extended out similar to a crow's beak.

He made a noise that sounded like a mix between a grunt and a sigh. "Really?" he said, and Lumine could tell he was straining to keep his voice still.

Childe chortled. "Eh, it'll be fine," he said casually.

Lumine took the next few minutes of awful silence to examine the so-called Fatui. To the guy with ice-blue hair's left, a young man sat with a dark hoodie decorated with silver decals, his face hidden by the cowl of the hood. On the other side, there was a girl that Lumine had to admit looked very pretty. She had hot-pink tips on her long black hair, and the front of her hair was tied into small ponytails that framed her pale face. A square diamond-patterned headband was around her eyes.

The boy that was next to the navy-blue haired boy that was next to Lumine has slightly curly blackish dark-blue hair and reminded her vaguely of Dr. Baizhu, with silver glasses. He kept his face mostly tilted away from Lumine.

Lumine couldn't exactly get many details from the people next to him, but he saw two girls with white hair, and next to the girl with hot-pink tips was a young man who made sure to hide half of his face away from Lumine, though she could just make out that that side of his face was covered by a mask.

Two others were at the end of the table, a short guy that had a long curved nose and another girl.

She quietly kicked her legs under the table awkwardly. No one was talking, though she knew a few of them were staring at her with suspicion lined in their eyes.

"Wow, guys, you don't need to be that quiet," Childe butted in, earning a glare from at least half the table. "At least welcome her or something. You're all so lame."

The boy next to Lumine scowled. "I'm Scaramouche," he said with a quiet voice that felt slightly intimidating. Lumine made a quick glance over her shoulder and saw Xingqiu walk past her quickly, sliding a note into her hand. She didn't dare look at it, instead stuffing her hands into her hoodie pockets. She turned to Scaramouche. "Yeah, sorry, but I'm not going to say that name every time I talk to you. I'm calling you Scara now," she said, trying to keep up appearances to Childe.
