This is my version of what would happen after The Heir, written by Kiera Cass. The second book is to be released in 2016.

The Heir, Kiera Cass Part Two
It had been days since Mom's heart attack. I felt nothing but guilt. Both Dad and I had been practically living in the hospital wing of the palace since it had happened, only leaving to shower and change clothes. I had been wearing nothing but pajamas, and my sleeping patterns had gone out the window.
Who had time to sleep? Every waking moment of the day I was stressing about Mom. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it must have been like for Daddy. He seemed broken. The huge bags under his eyes were very noticeable, and he always looked like he was about to cry.
He loved her more than anything in the world, and if Mom got taken away from him so soon, he would collapse.I must have fallen asleep in the chair next to Mom's hospital bed, because I awoke to someone gently holding my hand, rubbing their thumb over my palm in a soothing matter. I awoke and rubbed my eyes, feeling a bit groggy. t was Mom. "Mom!" I screamed with joy as I looked over at her hospital bed, her face surrounded by her fiery red hair. She looked exhausted from the trauma her body had been through. Next thing I knew guards pulled open the doors to reveal my very relieved Dad. "Oh my goodness America! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" Only a few seconds after did he realise his mistake.
"Oh, sorry! I really didn't mean for it to come out like that". Mom gave him a deep, warm smile and pulled herself out of the hospital bed, pulling Daddy and myself in for a warm embrace.
"I was so worried." I cried, tears streaming down my cheeks, "each day I was her I couldn't bear the thought of losing you." Mom looked over at me, and I could see the fear in her eyes at the thought of not being here for the next generation of Schreave's.
"I am so sorry for scaring you like that, Eady. I'll try anything to stop this happening again." Her eyes started to well up as well.
"That means, no working for the next month. I demand it." Exclaimed Dad.
"Uh oh," said Mom in reply. "I'm having pregnancy flash backs. You wouldn't let me lift a finger!" Mom laughed at the memory of Dad refusing to let her do anything exciting in case she got hurt.
Just then, Osten and Kaden burst into the room. "Miss Marlee said you were sick! You haven't been home for days! Are you ok?" Osten said, tears were streaming down his face.
"Don't you worry, I'm fine. I just had some pain in my heart" Mom replied,
bending down to Osten's level so she could give him a quick hug.
"Now," Dad started to say "I insist we all go home, have some tea and let your
mother rest in bed. Don't stress her about anything. If you have a problem
come to me first. Understand?" Dad's face went cold and stern, and I knew that this was directed at Osten and Kaden. Soon after, Dad, my brothers and myself left to let Mom rest in the hospital wing for a little while longer until she was strong enough to make her way upstairs to our living quarters. The doctor said he would take her up in a wheelchair using the disabled lifts.
She was under strict bed rest for a few days, which made Dad very happy as he had an excuse to smother her with love and affection.
I was pretty sure I would be doing the same.
