Him, her and Girlfriend

It is a week after receiving her results. Zara has been over the moon. Her mother made a little celebratory lunch for her and her siblings on the day she got the results and she was more than delighted. Zara went to meet her grandparents and they talked about her proud they are. Recently her grandmother has not been feeling well. She has been shown to a lot of doctors but no one was able to identify any issue with her. Zara noticed her grandmother was not able to function even like she used. Before she would eat by herself. Now she needs help in eating as well. And doing daily chores. Because of this Zara spend all her free time she could with her grandparents, helping her grandfather assisting in taking care of her grandmother. For her, they are her world.

Today there was a football tournament was starting in between schools. Zara and her sister were getting reading to go and cheer for their respective schools. For Zara she was still part of primary school till her high school starts next week. She was loyal as such. She made sure to wear something that represents her school color. She wore a blue t-shirt with a 3 quarter and finished it off with a shoe. Zara always loved comfortability. As usual her hair was left down, but she had a band on her wrist she could use to either tie her hair up in a pony or a messy bun if the temperature rise.

When they arrived at the stadium, there were a lot of students from different schools. Zara immediately put her head down and started walking up the stairs towards the back of the bench. She always chose places which would help her hide from the normal crowd. Zara was stopped in her track when her sister was called by someone and she decided to move to the crowd from where a name was called. Zara still kept her head down till they arrived to the group. She could hear talking between her sister and Ivy and Ivy's class mate.

Zara looked up when she heard Adam calling her name. She is good with recognizing his voice as he sits with her in class. He is an annoying ass, but Zara loves spending time with him. There is this protectiveness she always feels from Adam when he is around. Zara looked up and she 6 pairs of eyes were looking at her. She felt smaller compared to the aura she was getting from the group. Her eyes scanned the group and was immediately struck by the brown eyes she has been having trouble to forget. Immediately her heart took a somersault. There was not the usual amusement in his eyes, rather it was more of a annoyance she felt.

Adam came near her and started introducing the crowd, but before Adam can call out Dan's name, a girl sitting next to him stood up with a bright smile, rushed towards Zara and gave a hug. Zara could not help herself and chuckled and hugged the girl back. It was Aira, one of her seniors in Primary school who was 2 years ahead of her. They have always met each other in extra curricular activities and Aira has always been a good leader in all aspect. She was extremely pretty and her being of the prettiest girls in the school never went into her head. She always treated everyone with kindness and respect.

Zara released herself from Aira's hug and Aira immediately went and dragged Dan towards Zara. The way they were interacting, it was obvious they were close, how close Zara was about to know. Aira pulled Dan towards Zara and said, "Zara, meet my boyfriend Daniel. And Daniel, meet Zara, she is like the little sister I don't have". If someone was observing Zara, they would clearly the change in her color. But Zara was good in hiding her emotions. She immediately changed her aura with a bright smile and said Hi to Daniel. She used Daniel as that was the named Aira said. Dan immediately said, "It's Dan". He did not have humor in his voice, and Zara just nodded. Adam came between and introduced Dan's brother Sam.

Time started moving ahead and one match was over. Zara couldn't help but her heart was in pain. She could not explain to herself why she feels so. She can see Dan being totally occupied with Aira, and she felt happy he was making Aira happy. But Zara noticed, Dan was not as fun as he looked, as if like he was not showing his true self. Sam tried to befriend her and to not be rude she would add things here and there when he talked.

Aira and the crowd got up to go for a walk. Zara stayed sitting the same place she was when Aira asked her to join them. Zara looked at her sister and she said Zara can go and to be careful. They started walking around the stadium. Aira and Dan was in front and Sam and Adam were at either side of Zara. Zara was having conversations with Adam in a comfortable zone and whenever Sam joined, she would just be silent, nod or give small short answers. She did not want to look Infront and see the interactions that were going on. She was either looking at her friend Adam or looking down. For some reason she could see Dan looking back when Adam would crack a stupid joke and she would laugh, or when she was silent. As if she was checking on what was going on.

After the walk they went to same position. Zara chose to sit with her sister and as soon as it ended, she asked her sister to leave. Her overthinking trait has started and by now she has started comparing herself to Aira and other girls in the group. She was so plain compared to how pretty they were. They knew how to apply makeup perfectly. She was like a shadow when she was with them. When she was about to run down the stairs she heard Aira calling her. She turned around and was immediately engulfed by Aira. She smiled and said bye to her. Dan held his hand to shake her hand, and not to be rude she shook his hand. Immediately she felt like electricity was surging her fingers. She felt as if world stopped. But she immediately took her hand from him. From his face she knew he did not feel anything. When they were going home she could here her sister talking about Dan and his group as the popular group. And how I have to be careful around them.

Today she made her will stronger to focus on her studies and stay away from any trouble. But with her heart flickering so much, will she be able to handle herself? Time can only tell.
