The party pt.3: Nuggets perspective.

He made it. The first stage of high school was finally over and completed. And though he still had 3 more years until true freedom, Nugget couldn't be happier.

A lot had changed during his Freshman year, he was no longer the "Weird Kid" like he was throughout Elementary and Middle School. Nugget grew to the height of 5 '10 at 14 and even tried out for the JV football team and had a pretty good chance at making the varsity team. On top of that, Nugget was getting asked out on dates, and both girls and guys were interested in him.

It was obvious to the kids in his group and outside it.
Puberty hit this kid like a freight train.

But Nugget knew they weren't interested in his personality, just his newly acquired looks and height.
At least he had his friends.

Unfortunately, all his friends were in Mrs. Diltons social studies class, he was still stuck in Ms. Applegate's class. After she was released from court-mandated rehab she, for whatever reason, decided it was a good idea to go back to teaching, but this time she was teaching high schoolers. Her career was going fine, none of her students liked her and vice versa but she didn't want to kill any of them that badly. But all of that changed when Nugget and his friends got to high school.

"Nathan! Are you even paying attention!?" Applegate harshly screamed at the blonde teen. The biggest change from Middle School to High School was that his classmates and teachers adamantly refused to call Nugget, Nugget. It still caught him off guard a couple of times since the only person who called him Nathan was his dad.

Thankfully it was the final period of the Friday school day and later that night was Jerome and Monty's party, all his friends were gonna be there, aanndd a bunch of total randoms!

A muffled Drake song could be heard from behind the front door.

Nugget looked down at the shorter twins on each side of him, Lily on his left and Billy on the right, with fear and little concern on his face.

Lily took hold of his hand and gave it a light squeeze. "We can turn back now if you want." the shorter girl looked up at him with those green eyes that never failed to mesmerize him. Nugget shook his hand and gave Lily's hand a little squeeze back.

Even Nugget had to admit that seeing his childhood best friend and crush in a short black party dress. He was trying his hardest for his eyes not to travel farther down from her eyes. His other best friend, Billy, seemed to notice Nugget staring at his sister and let out a muffled snicker from behind his hand and placed his other on the taller one's shoulder.

"Sooo, are we just gonna stand here and longingly stare at each other?" Billy asked sarcastically.

Lily smacked him on the on the arm and marched up to the door and loudly knocked.

Cindy answered the door with a whole bottle of tequila in her hand and a lopsided smile.

"Lily!!!" she gave her a big hug, spilling some of her drink onto the other girl's dress. "And you brought friends~" Cindy moved to the side to let the three into the big house.

The blonde girl led the small group to the living room, handing Lily her half-full bottle before returning to the makeshift dance floor to continue grinding against four different boys and one girl.

Nugget felt out of place in the middle of the living room. There were too many people in one place for his liking, Billy split up from the two when he saw Adrian walk in and ran up to talk to him.

Lily held on to the bottle Cindy passed on to her and started taking small sips a few minutes after attaining it, but within an hour the bottle was replaced with a new beer bottle she was borderline chugging while talking with a few classmates.
