Chapter 23|it's not the same anymore

Everybody greeted eachother cheerfully goodmorning's were heard left and right

Ray and Y/n were busy cooking breakfast and there was a peaceful silence between the two when Ray broke it

"What happened? Why did you yell last night?" If Ray didn't speak up she wouldn't have said anything

"It was nothing" she kept stirting the soup

Ray didn't ask further and brought the plates to the dining table asking the children to set them

The children did as asked and later Y/n came in with a pot of soup

Norman tried to take the pot from her but she glared at him basically telling him that she can do it on her own making Norman immediately take his hands back to his sides

Y/n then smiled cheerfully and asked Ray to help her give soup to the children

After saying their grace

"Ittadakimasu"

They all started to eat while Y/n fed the little ones with Norman helping her

Later, Y/n sat in her office in silence, until someone decided to break that silence.

"Y/n?" A male voice called from behind the door.

"Come in."

The door opened, revealing Norman. Y/n was regretting letting him in, if she knew it was him, she wouldn't have asked him to come in.

"What is it now? Don't tell me you still won't give up on bringing me out with you, I won't come." You made your decision, and that was final.

"No, I wanted to talk about something else."

"Oh? What may that 'something else be?"

"Why did you choose Phil?" Norman asked, staring.

"What do you mean?" Your eyes widening just a little

"Why did you choose Phil?" He asked again.

"Choose Phil for what?" You asked, acting confused.

"Why did you choose him to be your spy? Do you want to repeat what happened in the past? Why?" Norman was pushing now..

"Don't push it, Norman." You warned.

"Why Phil? You know he can't handle this mentally, why did you choose him of all the kids here? It could've been Levi or something." Norman pushed too hard this time, he was getting you to reveal something, you just didn't know what it was he wanted you to reveal.

"First, Levi is getting shipped out. Second, Phil knows more and it's easier to talk to him about this. Third, I have a stronger connection with Phil and I can trust him more than the other children here. If that's what you wanted to know, now you know." You were kind of angry, you don't know why though

"Stop it. Stop the shipment, there's so much ways to stop it, please. You know how it feels, don't you, Y/n? The fear of dying, the fear of losing them? Why do you want to put yourself through this kind of stuff again?" Norman tried to convince you

"Sorry Norman, but you can't convince me anymore. I wanted this, and I got it. I did this to myself, Norman. Don't even try anymore." You made it clear already, yet he wouldn't give up.

"No, Y/n. You were forced! You were forced to stay, to become what you are now! Don't say that you wanted this, we all know you don't!"

You were pissed at this point

"Norman, if you have nothing else to say, get the fuck out."

He saw you were angry but didn't want to give up. He wasn't leaving you here again. He knew you were suffering, you just didn't like telling anyone.
