You finished unpacking your clothes into the small closet and sighed. Work was in an hour and you didn't get much sleep. Your head was also pounding against your skull, you felt a weak migraine bouncing around your head. You sighed heavily. You finally moved into a new place, and while it was small it was better then the crack den you used to be in.
You weren't joking, a working woman like you lived in a crack den.
Your roommates cooked and baked drugs in the kitchen while you lived on the couch for a measly $50 a month. You heard gunshots, you were in the middle of drug turf wars, and you now had an absurd amount of knowledge of how to cook meth. 'It was $50 how could I not have taken it?' You were fairly well off due to your cheapskate ways and working nature. It took your parents begging you to move to make you leave.
And your roommates stealing and wearing your clothes...
And the dog almost mauling you...
And a car literally driving through the wall and destroying your couch bed.
So you bid your crackheads goodbye and moved into a well sized city apartment that was only ten minutes away from your job. You lived a normal life, only having the necessities and only replacing them when necessary.
You wore your brown knitted dress for work today, keeping it casual for today. You started to brew your coffee from the moment. You turned your phone on as it was still off from last night. It was then you noticed your pointer finger still had a small pink heart sticker on it.
You tried to pick it off but it wasn't coming off, you simply shrugged. It'll wash off over time.
You then looked at your phone seeing missing calls from your mom. 'I thought I blocked her...'
You blocked the woman and then went to your text messages. Of course Tabi and Tanna spammed your phone but you took your eyes off of them to look at a random number had texted you.
(444)-###-####:
Hey! It's Ted.(444)-###-####:
I know it's late, the party was fun but everyone was looking for you.(444)-###-####:
Good night! ✨🌙You changed his contact name and sent him a simple text.
You:
Hello.Ted is typing...
Ted:
Good morning!Ted:
How are you? 🙂'Why did he ask me that?'
'No need to text, I'll tell him at work'
You closed your phone, and tended to your coffee. Drinking the coffee straight black you pondered on your life.
You had no friends.
Blocked your family out of your life.
And worked yourself till the bone.
You're doing great?!
So why does your heart ache?
You've never felt like this before. Your whole life you simply weren't concerned about other people or your own emotions. You simply just stared. You were a straight man, you don't even remember if you ever cried before.
But ever since yesterday at that party... you felt your heart.... Pulse and.... You didn't like it.
Like something inside of you had... unlocked. Something that should have been hidden away and never found.
