"Do you really think this is a good idea?"

"No, not in the slightest."

Planning a party really shouldn't be this hard.

The duo were currently planing their party at Jerome's house. Well, Jerome was planing the party. Monty was doing both of their homework.

Yes, separately Jerome and Monty were very intelligent for their age. Jerome was an amazing strategist and Monty was a natural genius.

...but there intellect together is definitely questionable.

"Why are we even having this party? School ends in a month."

"Because, I'm going to Hawaii with my mom and her little," Jerome scoffed and rolled his eyes before the last word. "Boyfriend, yuck, the day after school ends and you just got clearance from your doctor to not use your wheelchair anymore, sooo this is kinda like a, End-of-school-year-slash-Monty-can-kinda-walk-now Party." Jerome looked back at his best friend with a comforting smile on his face.

Monty looked back with a tired expression before smirking and saying, "You just want an excuse to throw a party and talk to Diana, don't you?"

Jerome turned red. "I would talk to her but I just get so nervous!"

"I mean you wouldn't exactly talk to her-"

"Shut up, you know what I mean!"

Monty rolled his eyes and chuckled. "How would this party even help you talk to her?"

Jerome bounced right back to his usual self with an answer. "Easy. Two words, alco-hol." he confidently replied.

"Ok, one: that didn't answer my question." Monty rolled his eyes once more. "And two: alcohol is only one word, dumbass."

"Asshole. Isn't it obvious! I'm gonna invite her to the party, drink like, half a bottle of tequila for courage, and finally talk to her!"

"You do understand how that could blow up horribly in your face right?" Monty tried again to be the voice of reason. "Maybe you should talk to her before the party, and maybe ask her to go with you-"

Jerome cut him off, "Oh Monty, you sweet stupid nerd."

"That was redundant."

"Diana different from all the people I've dated, I need as much confidence as I can get to talk to her!"

"Well again, not exactly talk to her-"

"You know what I meant!"

They sat in comfortable silence as they continued on with their tasks before Jerome broke the silence.

"Wait, why do you want to have a party?" he questioned.

Monty put his pen down again and turned to his friend. "I don't. You're the one who wants this party, I'm just paying for it." he turned back to his work.

Jerome smirked at the shorter boy, suspecting. "Really? Cuz I could've sworn earlier when we were with Ca-"

The ginger turned red instantly and looked away, harshly pushing his friend away "Ahhh! Nope. Shut up! Didn't happen."

Jerome cackled at his best friends immaturity.

"You are such a fucking loser around her. We all know you like her so just ask her out already, it's getting old!"

"Ok let me make this clear, I do not have a "crush" on Carla," he put emphasis on the word 'crush'. "I can barely stand her. I hate her and she sure as fuck hates me." despite his tone Monty actually seemed disappointed and slightly saddened at his last statement.

Jerome remained unconvinced.

"And even if I did like her," the ginger continued to defend himself. "I would do what I do with all my emotions, stuff it down deep within while it slowly bleeds out in other ways like rage and overworking myself." he said oddly cheery.

"Whatever you want to tell yourself buddy."

"I'm telling the truth!" he looked back down at his homework, done with the conversation.

Jerome then got an idea. It probably wasn't the best idea, but it was definitely something.

"Sooo, you wouldn't care if someone else tried to talk to her?"

That certainly got his attention. He looked up from his notes and side-eyed his counterpart."No, she's her own person. She can do whatever she wants."

"Ok alright, so you wouldn't care if it was someone in the group, like, I don't know, me?" Jerome was trying to hide his massive grin as his friend snapped his neck to the side to look at him.

"I thought you were into Diana?"

"I am but, you never know. Me and Carla surprisingly get along." Jerome looked innocently at Monty who was fuming.

Monty put down his pen, weirdly calm. "Jerome, we've been friends for... 10 years now? So you know I mean it when I say this, if you even think about doing that I will cut your dick off and feed it to your dog." he stared directly into the taller boys boys eyes as he stood up and placed his hands on Jerome's face. "And then I'll kill your dog and force feed him to you and your mom."

"But you don't like her...?"

"Nope."
