The sound of my footsteps echoes off the prison walls. The prisoners didn't dare go near the bars. The guards bowed their heads in greeting and respect.
Arriving at a large, magic-sealed steel door, it opens giving me passage to an ancient stone staircase that spirals down. Beside the bottom step, Nicolai and Dorian are leaning against the wall, arms crossed, already looking at me.
In the middle of the great room, a large cage made of the same material as the door. No one but me and my friends has permission and access to this part of the prison.
Sitting on the bed, Saul had his head down. Sensing my presence, he stood up and crossed his arms calmly. But in his eyes, there were a lot of feelings. None of them were calm.I open my mouth to say everything that needs to be said. But he held up his hand, silencing me.
"Don't say anything. I don't want to hear anything you have to say. I don't even want to hear your voice right now. You're the one who's going to hear it" I swallow hard, his harsh words making me squeeze the crystal in my hand tighter. "How can you be so cynical? How could you look at me every day and lie to me? How many lies have I heard from you? Of all the times I've talked about having kids, how did you manage to leave out the fact that we already had one?"
I lower my face feeling my eyes burning.
"Can I explain?" I ask still looking at the floor
"I already said I don't want to hear it. There's nothing to explain because it's almost all clear now. The rest I don't care to find out." I feel my palm sting along with my blood running down my fingers.
I deserve every word he has to say. I deserve his anger.
Walking over to the wall next to the door, I place my good hand on it, closing my eyes. A hot tingle grew in my chest and spread through my body to my fingers on the icy wall.
The stones began to change shape, transforming into a tree hull. Opening my eyes, I see in the middle of the trunk the image of a large house in the middle of the forest. Daylight illuminating the dark prison room."What is it?" Saul asked
"A portal" Nicolai replied "We will take you to meet your son"

أدب الهواةI grew up listening to a story. In that story there were villains and heroes. Like any story out there. For years, I believed and swore loyalty to the people who told me, and to those I thought were the heroes. But after I got older, I learned that...
