After the argument in the woods, Verena decided to take a quick shower to calm down. Now she was walking around the courtyard full of students to make sure it was everything in order.
Her phone kept vibrating with message notifications. She knew they were all from Saul. And it didn't help that her powers were turbulent and bubbling inside her. And for some reason she knew what was causing it. Or rather, who. She took a deep breath trying to calm down. It wouldn't be nice if she lost control in the middle of so many people. She tried to distract herself by wondering if the girls had already started doing what they had to do.
The answer came to her. Literally.
A little further on, a blonde girl came in her direction. She still hasn't noticed the older one yet. Her face was calm and expressionless. But Verena noticed her brown eyes gleaming with mischief. Almost vibrating with satisfaction. The typical look of a child who had just done something wrong and didn't regret it at all. That glow disappeared the instant their eyes met
The two walked past each other almost touching their shoulders. The unruly blonde haired girl nervously averted her eyes and started walking faster away from Verena. Confirming her suspicions.
A scream. This made Verena run to the hallway Viperine was in.
Riven ran like he was running from his worst nightmare. He looked back so scared he didn't noticed Verena on his path. She stopped him from running by wrapping her arms around him. Using her own body weight and the strength of her legs, she managed to keep the two from falling into the floor.
His breathing was fast and uneven. And Verena almost thought she was listening to his heart because of how hard it was beating in his chest. Realizing that he was very nervous, she hugged his shivering, sweaty body. Using a little magic to calm the boy down. A few seconds later he pushed her away.
"Please tell me you didn't find another body but two people having sex" she pleaded looking straight into his eyes.
"How do you know?" He asked
Verena raised one of her eyebrows, grimacing.
"Is it because it looked like you were running from a ghost ?"she grabbed one of his arms pulling him towards the direction he ran away from.
He complained and tried to break free. But she increased the strength of her grip preventing him from pulling away.
Arriving at the end of the hall, she came across the petrified body of a student. A fairy. She moved closer to try to identify the student.
Verena sighed, putting her hands on her hips. She turned around to Riven with an expression that clearly said "Unbelievable"
"It's the first day of school and you've already earned a detention. And in less than 24 hours you managed to find two bodies. Is it your lucky day?"
