Deep in the Forbidden Forest, and far bellow the ground, a meeting was being held. If you knew where to look, you'd find the entrance to this meeting in the trunk of a tree, within a large hole just big enough for a person to pass though if they stooped low enough. The meeting was in a room below the tree, in a large dirt room where the tree trunks seemed to hold up the wall, of course magic had a hand in its creation.
Within this earthen room was a mass of scarlet cloaked figures, each gathering around a part of the floor in the middle of the room that was higher than the rest. Whispers filled the room, filled with excitement and anxious thrill as the group waited for the ones who would stand on this little stage they surrounded. Soon the pair came, two figures in cloaks of red like the rest, only their's had two white symbols on the backs of their cloaks. These symbols were designed to look like birds rising out of shattered eggshells, yet held an eerie hold on those who looked upon them.
The two stepped up onto the stage in the middle of the room, hand in hand, gazing at the figures around them who drew closer like hungry children smelling a good homemade meal. Both figures nodded at each other before letting go of the other's hand and lowering their hoods. One was a man, and one was a woman, both in their late thirties to early forties.
The woman was incredibly beautiful in the way one was when they have aged and had experiences that have been life changing, that have made them truly reflect on life. Her complexion was fair and held the lines one got when they smiled frequently, though this woman hadn't smiled a true smile in years. Her hair was bright red, with one grey streak like silver running through it. The woman's eyes were blue like a clean river that flowed through the forest during hot summer days, looking incredibly refreshing to those needing a drink to quench their thirst.
The man's skin was darker than the woman's, and was weathered from much time spent outside, and he had a set of thick eyebrows that went with his greying copper hair. His eyes were green and stern, and set with a look of a man that wouldn't start the fight, but could definitely finish it. A scar ran down the left side of his face, from his temple to his cheekbone. The man's warrior like presence alone made a few people back away instinctively.
"Our fellow members of the the Hatch, it pleases us both to see you all here tonight." The woman spoke, her voice gentle and silky, calming everyone in the room, "Tonight we are here because it is time we finally make ourselves known."
"Its time the wizarding community took a step back and realized that we shouldn't be hiding, but living side by side with the muggles." It was the man who spoke now, his voice deep and authorities, "We don't have to wage war, or try to take over, but there is no reason we cannot live in peace with them. We've done so before, and we can do so again."
"If we simply expose ourselves to the muggles, show them that we could not only live with them, but improve their way of life, we could go back to before muggles feared and hated us."
"We chose to congregate here in the Forbidden Forest outside of Hogwarts by no mere chance."
"It wasn't easy getting us here undetected as you all know, but we assure you that our efforts were worth it." The woman managed a smile, one that didn't reach her eyes, but managed to convince those who watched her, "We are here to allow the future of the wizarding world a chance to learn the truth, that we shouldn't have to live in hiding. Do not confuse this with trying to get them to join our cause, no, that is entirely their option."
"We simply want to let them know that we are here if they wish to join us in the future to come."
"We won't give Hogwarts any reason to feel we pose a threat. We are not mindless dark wizards, we are simply the witches and wizards who want to see a better future for the magical and nonmagical worlds alike."
"A chance to break out of this shell we are trapped in, and be born into a better world for everyone."
"In a few days, we will make ourselves known, but for now, let's all rest. We've all had a long journey."
"We shall hatch into a new world." The couple said together, holding hands once more.
